Remember Gardner-Webb, those other Bulldogs Mississippi State defeated on the gridiron earlier this season? Well, apparently, they’ve got a pretty good basketball team.
In case you missed it, they played Kentucky last night. And in case you missed it, they beat the Wildcats. No, make that whipped the Wildcats, 84-68. At Rupp, mind you.
Oh, my.
If you are interested, read Jerry Tipton’s story in the Lexington Herald-Leader about the game.
Does this rank with Appalachian State’s win at Michigan in football? And note, GW went 9-21 last year. Perhaps Texas A&M’s fans are looking very appealing for Billy Gillispie today.

Yeah-Go Running Bulldogs! I was watching the bottom of the screen the whole Ohio vs Akron game, and then ESPN switched their coverage to UK. Huge win for GWebb, basketball wise-it could not have happened to anyone better. Thats one more of the list of who was standing in our way to win the SEC outright-think we may have about a 95% shot to do that now

App St. would be bigger shocker IMO. Football games are won more often by physicality, strength, and talent. Basketball is not a game of luck but when a team is hot anyone can be beat. I would much rather get beaten by GW in basketball than in football. They might be pretty good having the leading scorer in Indiana as a WALK ON. Thats light Itawamba Community College getting Montae Ellis to walk on because his girlfriend played women’s basketball there…sweet early Christmas gift for GW.

watched the game last night, gw is pretty good. that is the thing with major college basketball now a days. it doesn’t matter what their name is, everyone has players and if you don’t come ready to play you can take it right between the eyes.
