Here’s some in-between practice notes . . .
• Less than three thousand tickets remain. The ticket office will be open Wednesday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All tickets left are $40.
• Bowl reps from the Chick-fil-a, Independence and Liberty will be at the game on Friday.
• Permanent team captains have been announced – Royce Blackledge, Titus Brown, Jason Husband and Gabe O’Neal.
• Wearing red cross jerseys were Anthony Johnson (back), J.D. Hamilton (knee), Eric Hoskins (stinger) and Avery Hannibal (knee).
• The first half of practice (which was treated like a Tuesday session) was spent outside. The remainder was inside.
I kid you not. This is the sign at the Holiday Inn on Highway 12 in Starkville. Sorry, Ole Miss fans. But that’s pretty darn funny.

Ahh. Egg Bowl week. You can’t beat it.

Gregg, what’s your take on the Hiltongate fiasco?
November 19, 2007 at 6:35 pm |
Farley, what business do you run in oxford? I live there and would certainly patronize any business that is run by a fellow state fan.
November 19, 2007 at 6:38 pm |
How do I know that this isn’t a lame attempt to harass me at work by a hotty toddier?
November 19, 2007 at 6:43 pm |
farley, I’ve been in Starkville all day and know just bits and pieces about this situation. However, a crime was committed, although the cops weren’t call, and I think they should be suspended. I also believe the names should be released. There’s just something about public humiliation that might make one think before screwing up again.
And for the record, when the brawl broke out at MSU with the cop in the spring of 2006, I thought those guys should have been suspended the first game, too.
But hey, that’s just me.

Our buddy PA has been quiet today. Could still be trying to get his DSL up. I believe he is using string and cans for his current connection!
November 19, 2007 at 6:46 pm |
I dont know how to prove it to you. But i can assure you I hate olemiss more than anything I know. I have had to go to school there for a few years now and when i get my diploma this december, i may wipe my rear end with it.
November 19, 2007 at 6:46 pm |
Farley, I’m just surprised he’s actually spending money on something. Tight, guy, that Parrish Alford. LOL!

It’s behind the Burger King. Only a couple of places in that shopping center!
November 19, 2007 at 7:06 pm |
oh ok. You know who runs that computer repair place there? I need to go see them tomorrow. i am having laptop trouble
November 19, 2007 at 7:12 pm |
Not sure where a computer repair place is in our shopping center. There is one across the street from the pizza hut just up the road that is good. The guy is really nice and not that pricey either. I go to him anytime I need something.
November 19, 2007 at 7:33 pm |
I actually applied for a part time job at that blockbuster in the shopping center.
November 19, 2007 at 7:36 pm |
Really? I know the guy who manages that place. Give me your name and I can put in a word. My email is farley662@yahoo.com
November 19, 2007 at 7:52 pm |
No, thanks, I got a job at HIbbett’s Sports instead. I get my MSU gear at a discount haha.

That hotel sign is one of the funniest things I’ve seen all year. How funny would it be if all of the state fans brought pillow cases to wave during the game or if somebody were to hand out pillows to all of the Ole Miss fans
November 19, 2007 at 8:40 pm |
I think the sign is funny as crap. I also think you guys should take the pillow cases, that would be funny too. Hey, maybe that could be ya’lls new “bring to the game” a pillowcase. That would make coming to Starkville alot nicer. I guarantee you it would make all those publications improve their rating of the MSU & Starkville Experience. I wouldn’t recommend handing pillows to the Ole Miss folks unless you want a fight on your hands. I’m not saying I’d punch you but there are probably plenty of folks that would. Instead of a white-out or maroon-out, I bet you could convince some folks to do a pajama-out.
November 19, 2007 at 8:46 pm |
Heck, Matt, their are plenty of Ole Miss fans who would punch us for far less! Whiskey does that to people!
November 19, 2007 at 8:46 pm |
The student section should absolutely do this and bring signs saying they were late becasue their alarm clocks were stolen
November 19, 2007 at 9:49 pm |
Liberty or Music City guys? I want the Liberty!
November 19, 2007 at 9:51 pm |
Egg first, then Liberty!
November 19, 2007 at 10:46 pm |
I like the pillowcase idea. Remember when Peter Warrick had the Dillard’s fiasco, everywhere FSU went that year the fans had Dillard’s bags and it was hilarious.
November 19, 2007 at 11:42 pm |
“Don’t steal our stuff, bro!”
November 20, 2007 at 12:17 am |
i actually heard people talking about bringing pillow cases today…that would be cool.
November 20, 2007 at 12:40 am |
So they have already been suspended, but from what???……….Practice… this is so full of crap and stinks so bad, I feel that the NCAA will have their say before its over
November 20, 2007 at 12:51 am |
Kyle needs to get that crap off of the Clarion ledger, if he wants to make a point, just show those players that have been busted while a player at MSU. That crap is not helping anybody
November 20, 2007 at 5:40 am |
Imabulldog, I’m not sure what you are referring to on the ledger. I looked and nothing jumps out.
November 20, 2007 at 7:20 am |
Let’s do a clocks for cons drive at the game saturday, to help the rebs get some money for smokes when they finaly land in jail.
November 20, 2007 at 7:43 am |
On his little blog tab, he has a list of MSU arrest
November 20, 2007 at 7:43 am |
If clocks aren’t safe, MSU had better hire extra security for the clock museum at the depot with Ole Miss coming to town.
November 20, 2007 at 7:50 am |
Thanks Ima
November 20, 2007 at 6:35 pm |
Yea that would be a good idea—-bring white pillow case—-to wave.
November 20, 2007 at 6:42 pm |
4th Commandment.
I like the way Ole Miss staff explained it——nice kids that did something stupid…..I guess the first bunch of nice kids told the others ones how fun it, reason happened 2nd time.
It’s called stealing in my book. Surely Ole Miss fans are embarassed.
But I guess it’s about doing all you an do to “try an win”.
