Your stat of the day

Mississippi State has won five Western Division titles, three outright.

Why is that an important stat? Because Saturday’s game against Arkansas could go a long way in determining if more room needs to be made in the trophy case for additional hardware.

No. A win won’t wrap up the title. Nor will a loss spell doom. However, a victory against the Razorbacks will give the Bulldogs a two-game cushion with six to play.

OK. Pick the score.

If we keep our turnovers under 15:
    State 76
    Smelly Hogs - 61

    dogs 82 hogs 60
Ervin has more turnovers than points. State guards light it up from 3 point range.

Gregg, we are gonna try to meet up at Oby’s before the game tomorrow. You want to come?

    haha farley that is hilarious

    State 57
    Arkansas 52

I am afraid its going to be a close one with a lot of turnovers on both sides.
I would like to see State win by about 30 and see Billy Bagley end up with more points than Gary Ervin after draining two threes in a minute and a half of play. Now that would be great.

    sorry begley not bagley

Farley, I’d love to, but my 5th-grade team has a game at 1 p.m. I’ll be pulling into the Hump right at tip. I appreciate the invite, though.

  12. farley662 Says:

No problem. Maybe we can run into you at the game.

Hopefully, our guards will make it obvious why Ervin saw handwriting on wall, We need this one and Auburn and S.carolina, and that should be enough. Course , beating Ole Miss at the Tad Pad would be a nice bonus.

  15. natefromamory Says:

You guys will beat Ole Miss at the pad.

I think its time for Swat to get another Triple double this Saturday. My guess is he will swat 10, rebound 12, and score 16. Anyone else think that is a possibility or am I just crazy.

  17. warbirdz44 Says:

I don’t see him getting another triple-double. His blocks have gone down a bit as of late.

Biggest game of the year for us added to the Ark loss to UT. We will probably lose 1-2 more games and this one will get us the West if we can pull it out.

Have to counter here… a loss to Hogs would spell doom. At least for the SEC West crown. Here’s what happens if Dawgs lose today:

    - Dawgs and Arky tied at 7-3 SEC
    - Arky has tie break
    - Dawgs have 2 SEC West losses. Arky has 0.
    - Arky has big win over Florida. Dawgs have to play at Florida.
    - Dawgs would be 2-5 against top 50.
    - Dawgs would not be ranked for rest of season and get high NCAA seed

Dawgs have been digging out of that 5 loss hole for 13 games. They can fully recover with win over Arky… and then start to build on better record.
Make no mistake… this is the most important game of the season outside of SEC tourn.

Gregg, is the game going to be televised today, or can I make my way to the golf course. By the way guys, I’m on a search for a wii. Couldn’t find one in town. Any suggestions.

  22. Gregg Ellis Says:

Chris, the game is on ESPN. As for the Wii, I was on the lookout for five months before I finally got one at Best Buy. Every day, I went to Wal Mart, GameStop, Toys R Us and Best Buy to check their stock. Finally, my wife braved the cold at 3 a.m. on Sunday morning two weeks before Christmas at Best Buy and won the lottery. It’s a great console, though. And if you like bowling, it’s awesome.

  23. chrisfromcorinth Says:

That’s what I heard Gregg. My girlfriend is a league bowler and she and looking foward to the bowling game. I really want the Tiger Woods game for myself.

  24. Gregg Ellis Says:

The bowling is addictive. We’ve had family tournaments, and for my son’s 11th birthday, his party was a tournament. It was a lot of fun. Tiger Woods Golf is next on the purchase list. Madden 2008 is awesome, too. Once you learn the control. Be prepared, though, for sore shoulders. It’s a workout.

  25. chrisfromcorinth Says:

I think i’m gonna stay away from Madden, simply because of the controls. Golf and Nascar are about the extent of my gaming these days for ease of play. Maybe a good fishing game would be nice though.
