In a game limited to 8 innings due to rain, Mississippi State claimed a 7-3 victory against Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.
More importantly, the win gave the Bulldogs their first series victory of the season. Going back to last year, they had lost eight in a row.
Grant Hogue delivered what proved to be the winning hit, a double that scored Ryan Duffy for a 4-3 lead in seventh.

I felt like everybody was against Polk when he made the decision about the rain. I think he has a little more coaching knowledge then most folks. Lets give him credit where credit is due. He definitly made the right decision.

tish, he was fortunate in his decision. Games are needed. Had they not been able to play on Sunday, that would not have been good.

They have a shot at atleast 2nd in the West if not winning it. The West is crap from top to bottom.

LSU may be the best team in the West right now. They’ve gotten hot all of a sudden.

You are right a big sweep against South Carolina was huge for them. Junky Alabama still in the mix.

Ole Miss will lose 5 of their last 9 and probably be left out of Hoover.

Note. No one has been eliminated and no one has clinched.
