Dogs still four back
The good news is that Mississippi State didn’t lose any ground for the eighth and final spot for the SEC tournament.
The bad news, though, is that the Bulldogs didn’t gain ground either.
With six to play, MSU remains four games back after losing two of three to Auburn. State has now lost seven of eight series this season.
And if the Dogs are to avoid their first losing season under Ron Polk, they will have to win all of their nine remaining games.
Already, the 28 losses and 17 SEC setbacks are the most in school history, and Mississippi State is currently the only league foe below .500.

I hate to admit it, but I’ve totally lost interest in this baseball season. I just listened to bits and pieces this weekend. I’m planning on going to the season finale, and that’s about it.

I don’t think you are in the minority, draws.

You’re almost out of the woods GG. Time to start making your vacation plans.

If you were on the team you still wouldn’t be in the minority, draws.

Gregg, is there a timeline on when a replacement for Polk will be named?
May 5, 2008 at 1:10 pm
No timeline, TGL. I would imagine around the middle of June, or when Kentucky or Baylor are eliminated from the post-season.

Ah-ha!! Is that an opinion, or some insight? Because a former player has said it’s Cohen.

Sounds to me like GG is wanting to spill the beans on some “off the record” stuff.

Afternoon all,
I live in South Louisiana among all the Cajuns and Tiger fans and they are talking about the national search for a new head coach much like the search they had for Skip Bertman back in the 80’s. Many have said that the State baseball job as they see it down here is one of the best in country, much like the LSU or Bama football jobs.
When these jackasses down here talk like that I am proud to be a Bulldog and prouder that I did not attend Louisiana public schools. Man they can speak. But I hope one day I can say Welcome Home Cohen!!
I watched the LSU/Kentucky series and, although UK got swept, they look like the old Tiger/Bulldog teams. And they sure as hell made less errors than we do!!

In about two minutes, hit your refresh button. Will have a baseball coaching search update.

Sorry. Got another call. It’s now ready.

That’s OK. It was worth it.
Plus, it was a long entry, so it took a while for you to hunt-and-peck your way through it!! LOL!!
I understand.
