No jail for Brown, Wesley

Just left the courthouse, where Judge Lee Howard suspended the sentences of Mike Brown and Quinton Wesley. Both will be on probation, but neither will serve jail time for the felony charge of firing a weapon on an educational property.

Brown received a two-year sentence, while Wesley was given three years because of a past assault charge. They have little room room for error for the next couple of years, which is how it should be. They were also fined $1,200 and $2,000 respectively, and told they had to report to their respective probation officer once a month.

Both chose not to comment afterward.

Wow, double g-man,…I was just leaving Aberdeen and checking the blog for any news. Didn’t see any at first until I refreshed the site and saw your post. Good news indeed! I am glad the judge made the correct sentencing.

Can you let us know about their football careers at MSU?

  2. jaybirdms Says:

Both are prolly done, nash. Although I do remember GG saying that Memphis had requested permission to speak with one of them.

  3. Gregg Ellis Says:

They are done at MSU. jaybirds, that was Jamon Hughes Memphis was inquiring about.

  4. nashdawg Says:

Ummm…,I hate it for both but more so for Brown.

    20-5, WTF?!?!?!

  12. Gregg Ellis Says:

The loss ensured a losing season.

Embarrassing BEAT DOWN last night. The mighty Blue Raiders improved to 26-21. They hit five home runs and scored 16 earned runs. I don’t know how that’s possible off of McKickle’s army. This is MSU worst non-conference loss in 24 years.

I think that loss (plus the many other bad losses this year) proves that the coaching staff needs to be wiped clean and and entirely new group brought in. Sorry Raffo.

    Couldn’t agree more conquistador.

Getting beat 20-5 by MTSU is like losing to Maine 9-7. I think that happened to a team a few years ago in football.

  16. bigdraws Says:

Gregg. Did that really happen? Or is someone using your blog name?

  17. theconquistador2 Says:

No rebelnate. Losing to Maine is still much worse. But you know, we lost to Maine but still won a SEC game. 0-8

  18. Gregg Ellis Says:

Did what really happen draws? Losing to MTSU? Yes.

  19. bigdraws Says:
