Hoover no more? It’s likely

By Brad Locke

Don’t be surprised if the SEC’s media days relocate to a new city.

Nashville? Atlanta?

Chuck Dunlap, a MSU grad who is now the associate director of the SEC’s media relations department, said that while talks are ongoing, no definitive decision has been made.

“We’ve discussed moving the site of football media days out of Birmingham for promotional and other reasons in the past,” the proud Louisville native said. “I’m confident that discussion will occur again in the coming months with the league presidents, athletic directors and decision makers.”

Needless to say, this would be a huge move. When you think of media days, you think of Birmingham, or to be exact, Hoover.

I know some of you don’t care at all about this, but from my standpoint, it would be an interesting move.

For more insight on this story and additional reasons a relocation may indeed happen, check out the column written by the Birmingham News’ Kevin Scarbinsky.

Still read your blog everyday GG but I haven’t posted in a while. I wanted to tell you I think it’s very possible we could have eight wins again this season but I wanted to share my prediction for Alabama….. I think they’ll go 7-5 this season (7 arrests, 5 convictions)

Can you say, eric already has post of the day, GG.

    Pa-role Tide!

What do they call it when Alabama goes into a huddle?
    A “drug ring”

  5. Gregg Ellis Says:

    Touche, folks.

  6. jcdawgman18 Says:

Why can’t the Bama players huddle between plays?
Because it would be a violation of their parole to associate with other felons.

A lady in Tuscaloosa calls 911. Hysterically, she says, “Someone’s just
broke into my house, and I think he’s going to rob me!”

The police officer says, “We’re really busy at the moment. Just get the
guy’s jersey number and we’ll get back to you.”

  8. Gregg Ellis Says:

Draws, I think you’ve posted all of these before. But they are worth repeating.

  9. bigdraws Says:

I’m sure we all got the same email, LOL!!

  10. ericintupelo Says:

Man I’ll have to use all these when I get to work today. I work with mostly Bama and Rebel fans.

  11. jcdawgman18 Says:

Ouch, eric, that’s a tough job. Listening to foolishness all the time.

  12. ericintupelo Says:

True but I’m only there for like two more weeks. I just got in the Rad Tech program at ICC so I’m leaving the grocery business after 9 years. Hopefully I’ll come across more State fans.

  13. bigdraws Says:

Don’t know if this is the right forum. But I saw on the news where ICC revamped their tool & die facilities. Looked unbelievable. They’re gearing up for the demand following Toyota.

  14. Gregg Ellis Says:

Toyota is going to do a lot for our area.

As for the substance of the actual blog entry (imagine that! a reply that actually relates to the dam_ blog entry!), I bet Fat Phil Fulmer is glad they’re thinking of moving media days out of Alabama so his fat a$$ is not in jeopardy of a subpoena.

  16. bigdraws Says:

Relates to what dam? Hoover dam?

  17. Braves Dawg Says:

    You got any dam bait?

  18. bigdraws Says:

First I would have to get a dam fishing pole.

  19. Braves Dawg Says:

You can get one on the dam tour.

  20. bigdraws Says:

I’d have to spend too much dam money.

  21. Braves Dawg Says:

No worries, we’ll get a dam Bummer to steal one for ya.

  22. Gregg Ellis Says:

Hey, thanks for correcting the spelling of my name over on PA’s blog. Appreciate that. Jolly has obviously never visited over here if he thinks its slow here. LOL!

  23. Braves Dawg Says:

Birds lookin’ out for ya! ;)

  24. Gregg Ellis Says:

    Thanks, BirdZ1

  25. BirdZ! Says:

Yeah, GG, I know how you hate it when folks spell your name wrong. Prolly happens a lot, huh? over, and over, and over, and over….
