Make that five and counting for Garrett

by

Nearly a week after LSU offered him a full scholarship, Tupelo quarterback Chris Garrett receiver another offer on Friday.

This time it’s Florida State.

Garrett, who committed to Mississippi State last fall, has participated in camps in the past with FSU offensive coordinator, Jimbo Fisher, who served in the same capacity at LSU until this past season.

The senior-to-be at THS also has offers from Colorado and Ole Miss.

I hope he stands by his word and comes to State. I’m ready for someone who can do more than just “manage” the offense and keep us in the game.
Although it would be up to the coaches to surround him with the right players and turn him loose. On another note, how do you feel about a brown football stadium. It seems painting the fire hydrants, air conditioning units, and garbage cans were just a warm-up for foglenuts.

I think Chad Bumphis will get even more looks than Garrett next year. Croom landing him also would be huge. Also most of this with Garrett is just formalities with offers. Garrett’s dad might disown him if he’s not sporting some maroon. Very smart kid with some size at QB who will do fine wherever he chooses to go.

Gregg… you ‘scooped’ your “buddy” Kyle at the CL with this story! Good work.. 🙂

I believe Garrett will honor his commitment, Croom is an honorable man and if Garrett watched the special this past week on ESPN that featured Sly he would be highly moved and motivted to sign with the Dogs!

I agree with hailstate and his comments, we need someone to do more than merely manage the O and prevent mistakes… we need a playmaker! I believe Wesley Carroll is going to be that player and Garrett would continue that tradition! And if Carroll cannot make the plays J. Riddell should fit the bill (he had looked pretty good prior to getting hurt last year)

Gregg, did Riddell receive a medical redshirt for last season?

Hailstae, Fogelsong must be going for the military base look.

Braves, maybe a runway on campus is in the works for the Snoopy plane.

  6. Gregg Ellis Says:

cajundawg, there’s really no scope on this. He’s going to be getting several more commitments before this process is over.

  7. Gregg Ellis Says:

And no, cajundawg, Josh wasn’t eligible for a medical redshirt. He had played in too many games.
