Bringing back the blogbag

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a blogbag. Now would be a good time to bring it back.

So, if you’ve got questions about MSU sports, ask away and I’ll provide answers in a few days.

    a. Croom seems to be testier these days when asked a hard question. Is he getting pressure, or does he realize that if he fails this year his saviour(LT) wont be there to save him?

    b. Met a very gracious Polk the other day on campus. Seemed weary. Look that way to you?

  2. theconquistador2 Says:

    1) If Raffo gets the job, do you think he keeps McKnicle as pitching coach?

    2) In the SEC there are several new stadiums being built and renovations to current ones. Has there been any talk of improvements to Dudy Noble?

    3) Can we get a petition going to ban the baseball team’s use of the white hats and their softball uniforms?

  3. 2thdoc Says:

Has Greg Byrne noticed more donations than previous years into the athletic program since he has arrived? Several that I have talked with seem to be giving more almost exclusively because of him taking over LT’s spot.

I’ve got another baseball question, but it may take too much effort to answer.

The two worst SEC records belong to LSU(6-11-1) and MSU(4-14). When was the last this happened? Has it ever? At least we’re not alone.

  5. rebelnate Says:

How many people do you think Hank Steinbrenner has killed or had killed in his life?

    That dude is straight gangsta!

What character did he play in the Soprano’s?

  6. imabulldog Says:

what is the possibility AJ will be back in uniform come fall?

  7. bedgood Says:

This is not baseball, but State related. (and I just may have missed it) But what is the situation on Jamont Gordon? He apparently is still in Nashville, not in school and tells Veazy that his grades are ok. (number 1 I do not believe Gannet for one bit.). So my questions are: What are the NBA dates? (for declaring and for dropping out) What would be his academic situation if he came back? I know he has to pass 18 hours, is that in the summer only? Or is that summer and fall?

And what are the newest developments on “Benedict Hansborough”? And on that subject, what is our future on our basketball facilities? I know there is something on the horizon, what are the options? And what is taking so long (besides the red tape)?

  8. bedgood Says:

Now on a baseball note, What are the scholarship changes for next year that motivated Polk? Or is there a link that I can go and download them? Is there anybody specific at the NCAA that somebody who wants to piss in somebody’s corn flakes (mainly me) ican start emailing about their displeasure over this to?

gg, do you think if State were to hire Raffo. Would he have the guts to fire fellow assistant coaches? Most importantly, would he have the guts to fire Russ McNichols?

  11. rebelnate Says:

They had McNichols live on Southeastern Drive time early in the season. That jinxed the pitching staff the moment he went on that garbage show. His brain shrunk that day to the level of Steve Ellis and Anthony Craven therefore lies the problem with State pitching staff.

  12. Gregg Ellis Says:

Nate, I’ve been on that show numerous time and my head didn’t shrink.

  13. rebelnate Says:

    Didn’t say head.

  14. rebelnate Says:

If it wasn’t for people calling in to that show do you think it would be an hour of complete silence or maybe Anthony could studder for an hour. You have never been live in studio like McNichol was.

  15. thingreenline Says:

Is there really any chance Raffo will get the head job? If he gets it, there will probably be a few explosions heard throughout the Bulldog Club. I think Byrne knows a pick like that would deminish the expectations some have for him.

  16. thingreenline Says:

BTW, Anthony Craven is a good guy. Deserves whatever breaks he can get in that field.

  17. Gregg Ellis Says:

Almost all of the comments I’ve heard about the show have been positive. What is it you don’t like. I admit I’m not a regular listener.

  18. bigdraws Says:

I still listen to Wyatt’s show when I happen to find it. Can’t ever remember when it’s on.

  19. rebelnate Says:

Have you ever listen to his play by play thingreenline?

  20. rebelnate Says:

Just getting old GG I guess. Have you heard about Scott McKinney getting tossed in jail.

  21. Gregg Ellis Says:

Yep. I heard, and read, about that, Nate. It’s not looking so good for Scott.

Draws, Matt’s show is on from 6-7 on Miss 98 Monday-Friday.

  22. rebelnate Says:

I know 1 spot here in North Mississippi he owes about $15,000 to.

  23. Gregg Ellis Says:

    New Albany?

  24. thespear Says:

I have heard big rumors that Miss State is going to eventually move into the Conference USA? say it aint so Gregg!!!!

  25. rebelnate Says:

  26. Gregg Ellis Says:

Well, spear, it’s certainly benefited Memphis.

  27. bedgood Says:

Nevermind about the Jamont Gordon update. He has declared:’s-Gordon-will-declare-for-draft. And he is going to sign with a agent.

  28. 2thdoc Says:

Not signing yet for fear of injury. He actually thinks he is a first rounder because someone told him that but hasn’t “heard it from the NBA”.

I wonder why he hasn’t heard it from the NBA? Because he is a second rounder at best. Good luck overseas Jamont. My advice for you would be to get as far away from whoever told you that you were a first rounder.

  29. db33 Says:

Gregg, here’s a request. Next time you talk to Jamont, how about telling him that he’s not projected by any mock draft out there as a first rounder. In fact, only one even projects him to get drafted. Google NBA mock draft and see for yourself.

I’d love to hear his reaction. Just WHO is telling him he’s a 1st rounder. This is Mario all over again.
