  1. BirdZ! Says:

Seems about right. DP is probably our only first teamer, even after the season is over.

I am surprised that JPW of bama made the 3rd team. Is there just nobody else after Tebow and Stafford?

  2. Gregg Ellis Says:

Year of the young QB, BirdZ.

Oh, and the media poll comes out on Friday.

  3. chrisfromcorinth Says:

Who is kicking for “us” this season. That always seems to be the weakest part of the team is the kicking game. Is the kid that broke his foot back.

  4. Gregg Ellis Says:

    All kickers are back.

  5. nabhi Says:

Preseason All-whatever has always seemed a little ludicrous to me. “People to watch” or “Players most likely to have a positive impact” are better terms. Why award a guy (even one of ours) an All-whatever when not even a down is yet to be played?
Preseason polls are a little better. Their problem is that they prejudice everything. Even the BCS standings.
Of course, such lists do give us something to discuss. Nevertheless, I still would rather have none of ours listed and still beat the “stuffing” out of the turkeys from Lafayette County.

  6. chrisfromcorinth Says:

I agree about the poll nabhi. If they stick a team at the top as long as they win they tend to stay, even if they play lesser competion(Big Ten), and if they lose they don’t usually drop far enough to give another team a shot to creep in(Notre Dame, though not recently).

  7. tebmsu97 Says:

Ask Auburn how much they like preseason polls. 13-0 in the SEC and no shot at a title because of a preseason poll. While I doubt I could think of another school I would want something like that to happen to more than Auburn and Tubby, it still sucks.

  8. jcdawgman18 Says:

nabhi, I like to think of that game as pinning the tale on the “donkey”, so to speak.

  9. carwwest Says:

i think the list are about right….i think we might have another OL be on one of the lists by the end of the year…..

  10. msfan20 Says:

John Parker Wilson??? I guess I have been overrating the coaches of the SEC. I know its not a lot of proven QB’s, but give it to a guy that single handedly cost his team 3 games by bone head decisions last year alone. I would have give it to Carroll before Wilson, at least Carroll didn’t make mistakes to get us beat. Casey Dick deserves it before Wilson, because at least he doesn’t do anything to get his team beat.

  11. carwwest Says:

but JPW is alabama’s, nick sabans QB…he could have put up henig numbers and still be looked at as an elite QB….its retarded….

  12. warbirdz44 Says:

    A little off topic but….

Big day in the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league tomorrow. Jamont Gordon vs. Charles Rhodes! Gordon and the Warriors will take on Rhodes and the Mavericks.

Here’s a place where you can get a link to the live stream:

  13. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Thanks for posting this. Not bad showing for the Ole Miss Rebels.

  14. bigdraws Says:

That’s about how many they had last year if I’m not mistaken.

  15. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Could be right about that, but look for more Rebels on that list next season.

  16. bigdraws Says:

I would say look for more losses but you can’t get anymore than 0.

  17. Jimmy Barbee Says:

I would say 8 wins for the Rebs this season.

  18. warbirdz44 Says:

I would say give me some of what you’re smoking. I think at best Ole Miss wins 6 this season, and that’s if everything goes right for them.

  19. bigdraws Says:

JB, I thought yall tried not to copy State.

  20. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Warbirdz: hadn’t smoke rabbit bacca since left potlockney creek. The spirits do relate to me that dem Rebels are for sure.

Draws, we gota quite copy state and start win – dis de year.

  21. imabulldog Says:

I don’t know JB, you sure so mention that rabbit bacca a lot 🙂

  22. farley662 Says:

I still say the people from Oxford are jerks.

  23. farley662 Says:

Not just the OM people, the folks actually in Oxford.

  24. thespear Says:

Starkville residents are generally very hospitable and friendly!

  25. imabulldog Says:

    Fo sho’

  26. themaroonandwhite Says:

i have an awesome boss who went to OM a long time ago. i told him i didnt realize such a nice fella could have went to OM. seriously. pretty much every OM alumn or student i’ve ever met have been complete jerks. sure there are jerks at state but OM has more than their fair share.

  27. farley662 Says:

How many OM fans have came to visit? 0! State fans? Countless numbers. State nurses? 6. OM nurses? 0. State reporters? 1, who wrote a very touching article. OM reporters? 0, one very chubby one whom I frequented his blog has yet to ask about Aedan. You guys do the math as to who are the good folks and who are the bad. Even had a dang Bama fan come before any OM people.

  28. farley662 Says:

    This ones for you ima.

  29. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Farley, Piece of The Lord with you and family. God Bless.

I don’t know JB, you sure so mention that rabbit bacca a lot

Ima: That rabbit bacca is a wild weed growing out in the fields and pasture land. Us kids use to gather that stuff and roll cigarettes with paper sack material and smoke it. It had no chemical effect to the mind. We just thought it cool. Kids and some of us old seniors do weird things at times.

  30. farley662 Says:

WE ARE GOING HOME TODAY!!!!!!! And Oxford still sucks.

  31. CBdawg Says:

    Congratulations Farley

  32. Gregg Ellis Says:

That’s awesome, Farley. I know you can’t wait to get Aedan into his own little room.

  33. nabhi Says:

Great news, farley. Barbee must have been partying with the Bammer football team. You know, a religious thing: “One toke over the line, sweet Jesus . . .”

nabhi, you can make fund of me and My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ all you wish, but one day YOU WILL, repeat, YOU WILL go face-to-face with My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for judgement and shame on your sinful soul. May God Have mercy on you.

  35. bigdraws Says:

    LOL!!!

  36. imabulldog Says:

    congrats Farley!!!

    BTW, that was hilarious Boy!

  37. nabhi Says:

Barbee — Thanks. I am ready. Lighten up. I was not making fun of Jesus.
That as a quote from an old song that had nothing to do with Him.
You, too, need to be aware of the sin of self-righteousness and judgementalism. “You brood of vipers . . ” and “Blind guides” are two of the ways Jesus addressed your type.
I am thankful that God does have mercy — unlike some of you who claim to be His followers.
By the way, how does your position jive with your cheer that starts with “Hotty totty . .” and goes on to take God’s name in vain? “Judge not that you be not judged.”

  38. Jimmy Barbee Says:

nabhi: thanks for the reply. I appreciate you feelings. I am not “Hotty totty”. Just Rebel fan. Jesus love’s you and so do I. Have a wounderful day, and God’s Blessing.

  39. midnightdawg Says:

wow, nicely played J Barbee. my quest must continue………
