Your five questions … or more if necessary

by

Blank out Mississippi State for a moment.

And when you do and look at the rest of the SEC, what do you see as the five biggest questions.

At the top of my list is how LSU will handle its quarterback situation.

Have at it. And on Friday night when media days conclude. I’ll try and provide answers to your questions.

Definatly the LSU qb. And in no particular order. How will the two new coaches in the West shape up this year? Will UGA live up to all the preseason hype? Will Bama make any strides under Saban in his second year? And we know it’s a three man race in the East, but will anyone be a surprise team in the West to put the heat on Auburn and LSU?

  2. jsaltillo Says:

I only have one question and it’s more for the community. Why does everyone think Auburn is going to be so good. They graduated a quarterback and their best defensive player, have a new offense under a new coordinator and weren’t that great last year.

  3. 2thdoc Says:

How will Auburn’s new offensive scheme perform in the SEC?

Will Ole Miss improve more than expected and will Georgia disappoint?

Is there something extremely wrong in Tuscaloosa this year that we will find out about mid-season?????

Will UT regret giving Fulmer that ridiculous contract for 8 win seasons?

Is anyone else having logo problems in the SEC?

  4. bigdraws Says:

Kodi Burns is supposed to be the real deal. Heck, they’re changing their whole offensive philosophy for him. Qb for LSU will be a big question, so you can’t really say they’re the favorite. Who do you thinks going to win it, Bama?

  5. farley662 Says:

Why are all OM people a**holes? Ask it 5 times for good measure.

  6. tillodawg Says:

Gregg, here’s a good question for the SEC commisioner(and any of the coaches for that matter)….ask him WHEN they announce that Powe is eligible, and he will be eligible, if he’s worried about the lawsuits down the road when the next guy at another school is turned down.

The word everywhere is he will be announced ready to play AFTER the SEC meetings this week. Supposedly, noone wants this to brought up at the meetings because that’s all that will be discussed…….

This, in my opinion, is going to change the landscape of recruiting & eligibility issues that everyone had gotten used to since the SEC decided to no longer accept partial-qualifiers several years ago.

  7. Gregg Ellis Says:

Tillo, I’m sure that question is going to be asked.

You know, Powe isn’t the first to go through all of this. Not that I’m defending him, but if he did all that was asked by the NCAA, the SEC and Ole Miss and is in good standing academically, I have no problem with this. I’m tired of the story, but again, if he’s done what is asked, I think he deserves a shot.

If you all recall, we saw this with Mario Austin on a much, much, much, lighter scale.

  8. bully4prez Says:

    1. Can LSU contend for the SEC or BCS without an experienced qb?
    2. How long will Petrino stay at Arkansas?
    3. Can Georgia go undefeated through their brutal schedule?
    4. Will Tebow have another Heisman year?
    5. Will Houston Nutt and the Rebels turn it around in year #1?

  9. nabhi Says:

farley — To catagorize OM alums that way is unkind to every decent rectum.
Big question — in which category of takeaways will OM lead: ionterceptions, fumbles, ashtrays, towels . . .?

  10. hokdog91 Says:

What changes should we expect from USC’s defense with Ellis Johnson as defensive coordinator?

  11. Braves Dawg Says:

    1. Will Tebow profess his love for men?
    2. Will Coach Nutt ask the media to officially address him as Rosco P. Coltrane?
    3. Will Stafford reach the fabled Pillsbury Throw Boy status this year?
    4. Will U of A field the starting 11 for the Alabama State Penitentiary?
    5. Will Petrino leave Arky for the 49er’s?

  12. jcdawgman18 Says:

    1. LSU QB?
    2. Auburn offense?
    3. UT?
    4. Can Tebow be even more ridiculously good this year?
    5. What will Alabummer do?

  13. BirdZ! Says:

    1. What player in the SEC will have a breakout year?
    2. How is the QB situation at LSU and UK?
    3. Have the off-field problems been an issue for UGA or Bama?
    4. Will the work load for Time Tebow be lessened this year?
    5. What constitutes solid progress for Nick Saban and Alabama? 7 wins? 8 wins, more???

  14. tillodawg Says:

Oh, I agree with you. If it’s all on the up and up, he should get to play. God bless him….my post was moreso with SEC now allowing partial qualifiers to backdoor their way in.

I’m just wondering where do they intend to draw the line ?

  15. rebelnate Says:

I heard Erin Andrews ask Tebow if he wanted to tap that and he said he had his hopes set on Herbstriet.

  16. Gregg Ellis Says:

great point, tillo. I think the wording has been legalized as such to protect them in other cases. But you are right, that’s going to be the big question

Not Nate, was that really necessary?

  17. db33 Says:

My questions are more of the on field type.

    1) Has LSU got a top quality QB waiting in the wings after Perrilloux?
    2) Will Croom & McCorvey ever put some life into the MSU offense?
    3) Has Urban Meyer finally found a tailback to limit the number of hits Tebow takes?
    4) Has Auburn got the defense to go with their revamped offense?
    5) Starting QB questions abound at several schools – South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, & Auburn.

    To discuss each of mine:
LSU’s got all the pieces but Qb. IMO I think this is what puts Auburn in Atlanta this year.
I’m sorry but #113 nationally in year FOUR. YEAR FOUR??? That’s walking papers for any OC outside of Starkville apparently. In Croom’s 4 years our offense has finished 11th, 12th, 11th, 12th in the SEC. And, never ranked in even the top 100. Folks, you can’t plan to win each week with pick six’s and punt returns.

Tebow is superhuman but if they find a high quality tailback to take the running pressure off of him, they are my pick OVER Georgia and Auburn to win the conf.

Don’t worry about Tubby’s offense, it’s going to be AWESOME. Remember, in 3 weeks new OC Franklin fielded their best yardage output of the year in the Peach. And, he’s got 2 Qb’s – Burns & Chris Todd, who is a stud too. He was Texas Tech and transferred.

I think Franklin uses both Burns & Todd. I think you have to really keep an eye on Vandy if Nickson returns to form. Spurrier needs the highly touted Garcia to quit acting like Perrilloux. UK has to replace Woodson, probably Shane Boyd wins it.

    BRING ON FOOTBALL SEASON!

  18. holder1927 Says:

    1. Is Auburn going to be able to run an effective spread offense this year?

    2. Is Snead really the answer to Ole Miss’s problems? I heard the same thing about Schaeffer a couple of years ago.

    3. Is LSU going to be able to retool their top notch Defense or will they have a rebuilding year this year?

    4. Is Woody McCorvey finally going to open up the playbook for a MSU QB this year?

    5. How good of a job will Petrino do at a very talent depleted Arkansas?

  19. dc31 Says:

    1. How close is Robert Elliott to Jerious Norwood?
    2. I’ve heard that Carroll’s arm has gotten extremely strong…True?
    3. Who is scheduled to take over at the center position?
    4. Will Derek Sherrod make us forget who Mike Brown ever was?
    5. Is it too early to get Sugar Bowl tickets?

  20. imabulldog Says:

    1. Has Petrino even unpacked his stuff yet, will he ever?
    2. Will Auby still remain as the Running Back U-under new system?
    3. LSU, West champs or 3rd place with new Qb?
    4. Ole Miss, worse than last year or better?
    5. Bama, 0% improvement?

  21. imabulldog Says:

Dc31 – “we goin to da sugabol”

    Who said this famous statement?

    Hint- ole miss, caveman…..?
