Round 2 . . . Let’s get it on

Morning, all. Hope you’re ready for another day that is SEC Media Days.

On tap today are Mark Richt of Georgia, Houston Nutt of Ole Miss (nearly said Arkansas), Phillip Fulmer of Tennessee and Nick Saban of Alabama (didn’t almost say LSU).

Should be another exciting, action-packed day here at the Wynfrey.

As for yesterday’s stories . . .
For Sylvester Croom, it’s not about the money.
• A notebook led with Wesley Carroll.
• A look at LSU and its quarterback issues.

Notice who scheduled us for homecoming?
They better have their qb situation firmly settled by then is all I have to say.

  2. theconquistador2 Says:

Can’t say that I blame them.

  3. jcdawgman18 Says:

I know a lot of y’all are already predicting gloom and doom, but I don’t think it was a good idea on their part. We played with them in the trenches last year. The score was so bad because Mike Henig gift wrapped it for them with those interceptions.
Go ahead and laugh, but I think we will be undefeated going into Baton Rouge. Our offense will improve and our defense will be even better than last year. By no means do I think we are a suitable homecoming opponent for them. We are capable of beating them.

  4. Gregg Ellis Says:

A lot of times, homecoming is the result of where a game falls on the schedule more than the opponent. I don’t think it’s like it used to be in the past where you try and schedule an easy game. I’m sure most SEC teams would schedule a non-conference game for homecoming if that were the case.

I agree dawgman. For a half we gave them all they could have asked for. If we can got going and be rolling by the time we get to them I think there could be trouble.

  6. jcdawgman18 Says:

Well, the last time we had an SEC opponent for homecoming that I can remember was when SC went 0-12 in Lou Holtz’s first year.

  7. jcdawgman18 Says:

Just checked their schedule. They play North Texas at home two weeks earlier and they play Tulane at home the first weekend in November. I think either of those would have made a lot more sense.

  8. Gregg Ellis Says:

Sometimes, you guys overthink stuff. Also, MSU played LSU in 1999 on homecoming.

  9. bully4prez Says:

i can honestly say that i don’t care a bit about who we play for homecoming. i don’t even know who we’re playing this year for homecoming.

  10. BirdZ! Says:

Maybe homecoming for state will be good this year. Rumor has it that the flag girls from the 50’s will do a tribute to Estelle Getty, everybody’s favorite Golden Girl.

  11. Gregg Ellis Says:

    Wow, BirdZ. LOL!
