Mississippi State hasn’t yet released its complete basketball schedule, but in his weekly column, athletics director Greg Byrne announced the SEC slate.

What you’ll find interesting are the televised games – seven of them.

Saturday, 1/17/09 Vanderbilt

Wednesday, 1/21/09 at LSU

Saturday, 1/24/09 at Georgia (ESPN/ESPN2)

Saturday, 1/31/09 Ole Miss (Raycom, 12 noon)

Tuesday, 2/3/09 at Kentucky (Raycom, 6 p.m.)

Saturday, 2/7/09 Arkansas (Raycom, 3 p.m.)

Wednesday, 2/11/09 LSU

Saturday, 2/14/09 at Auburn

Wednesday, 2/18/09 South Carolina

Saturday, 2/21/09 at Alabama (Raycom, 3 p.m.)

Wednesday, 2/25/09 at Tennessee (Raycom, 8 p.m.)

Saturday, 2/28/09 Auburn

Wednesday, 3/4/09 Florida (Raycom, 8 p.m.)

Of all our games ESPN is televising our game against the worst team in the SEC? Odd. I guess a lucky run in the SEC tourney gets you an ESPN game.

Good to see alot of games on Raycom because I should be able to get that in New Orleans.

  2. Gregg Ellis Says:

Now don’t forget ESPN will have the option to pick up other games, too.

I think Raycom will be doing some games in HD this year. Three tough ones to start out with.

A Tuesday Raycom game with UK? That’s gotta be ESPN.

How come Byrne only uses one G in his first name?

Yeah that Tuesday game with UK has got to be ESPN. That game has been on ESPN for several years now if I’m not mistaken.

Basketball not too far away. Just a thought: A bit dry

“He’s great on the court,” a sportswriter said of a college basketball player in a interview with his coach. “But’s how’s his scholastic work?” “Why, he makes straight A’s,” replied the coach. “Wonderful!” said the sportswriter. “Yes,” agreed the coach, “but his B’s are a little crooked.”

Thanks for the comic relief, JB. You stayin’ cool in FLA?
