Week 3: Predictions

Sorry I’m a bit late with this. Working on the desk tonight.

Auburn is considered a clear favorite, but I’ve got a feeling MSU will keep this one close. But the Bulldogs haven’t shown me enough yet to make me think an upset is in the cards. That Auburn D could really make things ugly for Wesley Carroll and company. The lower the score, the better the chance for State.

My prediction: Auburn 24, MSU 17

    34-12 Tigers.

  2. dc31 Says:

    21-10 STATE

    Inexperienced QBs for AU
    Inexperienced WRs for AU
Shut down running game, multiple picks for STATE
Tons of Cowbells at Night for STATE

  3. 2thdoc Says:

    AU 17
    State 14

  4. maroon1white Says:

dc31, I sooooo hope your right! I do believe myself we get the upset. I’m not sure about a score but we definitely need a defensive score like last year. I really hope our ENTIRE crowd gets into it. I mean night game, ESPN, SEC match up, Western division implications, what more do you need to be on your feet the entire game. Let’s make it as hard on Auburn as possible and keep our boys hyped up. We are capable!

    GO DAWGS!!!

Houston Nutt coaches for ole miss, not Miss. State… perhaps i could refer you to their blog…….. djrebel.wordpress.com

tell Rich Rodriquez to have a good weekend….. Oh wait, he doesn’t coach your team does he? lol

  7. strikerhcs Says:

    Auburn – 34
    MSU – 20

  8. tebmsu97 Says:

We are going to need a big defensive effort to win this ballgame. I would love to think the having Sherrod back will make a big difference, but not enough to beat AU.

    AU – 28
    MSU – 10

  9. biloxi13 Says:

These bunch of fiesty puppies will come out with a lot of energy, but unless they can get a Special Teams score or a Defensive TD, I can’t see the O reaching the land of milk and honey. 24 – 6 AU.

  10. BirdZ! Says:

    AU 27
    MSU 17

  11. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Sure wish that I could reach into the magic hat and pull out victory for State this week-end over Auburn and “Tubby”. But, not so:

    Auburn 24 Miss State 14

  12. imabulldog Says:

    Spear thats hilarious!!!

    Dawgs 21
    Auburn 17

Dawgs jump out early-but leave the door open the whole night.

INT’s off of Burns and Todd change the game. Kinda like last year, good field position off of them

  13. theconquistador2 Says:

A win is possible. We’ll likely need a very similar defensive showing as last year to win, but you can’t expect the defense to duplicate last years results. Auburn has a stout defense and our offense….well….I guess we’ll finally get to see how “improved” they are.

    27-13 Auburn

  14. dawgface52 Says:

    31 – 13 Auburn 😦

  15. jcdawgman18 Says:

Dawgs come out and hit folks HARD all night long. Defense plays lock down D, offense gets the tough ones.
    Final Score:
    Dawgs 21
    Auburn 10

  16. olemsufan Says:

    AU – 17
    MSU – 27

  17. joekstewart Says:

I like our chances against Auburn:
    1) It in Starkville, not the plains
    2) State’s defense (especially their secondary) is sound, but we need some turnovers
    3) the play of Carroll is better this year around
    4) Dixon is hungry for some yards
    5) The play of the Wide-receiver is 100 x’s better this year

But guys, LA Tech game was a fluke. We did not come to play and got beat. We are a better team now than in August. This is going to be a great game and you better put on your game faces because the last element for a win, is a sold out house. That means your butt at Scott field.

    AU- 17

Carroll throws a TD and Dixion runs for two

  18. goldendawg Says:

    Auburn 24

You will learn tomorrow that our offense has not improved any and that our defense is not as good as last year.

    AU- 31
    MSU- 3

I can’t wait to get to DWS@SF. It is going to be a great day for Football and Tailgating. On our menu this week is Fresh Gulf Shrimp (16-20 count), peeled, deviened and boiled. Corn, potatoes, shrooms, sausage, onions and garlic. 400 Silver Bullets and a bottle of whiskey for a celebration night cap.

    GO DAWGS !!!!!!

Here is one of the great ironies of Life. I agree with every post I read here.

    (What a dummy I am!)

However, my heart lies with DC31, Maroon1white, imabulldog, jcdogman18 and joekstewart.

The BullDogs that I love are an upset team. We always have been and it is a wonderful tradition.

    Beleive it or not…

I spent $25.00 last night with Sister Glendora, “Past Illuminated, Present Explained, Future, Foretold – Tarot, Tea, Palms, and Indian Healing Arts” County Road 27 Toomsuba, MS – “Helping those who need Help 24/7” She felt the bumps on my (bumpy) head and told me:

“All of the stars and planets will come into alignment at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 13 (a magic number) and WE WILL WIN!” I left Sister Glendora’s parlor a few minutes later as she danced and rang her CowBell like a Prophet out’a MooU. As I dove away, I could still hear that clang, clang, clang, and her fevered chant.

“Boom Chuck’a Luck’a Luck’a, Boom Chuck’a Luck’a Luck’a , Boom Chuck’a Luck’a Luck’a, Boom. The Dogs will win. The Dogs will win, but we won’t be certain until the end.”

Sounds OK by me. How about you guys ?

MSU 21, Auburn 17, with the Tigers trying to score TD at the very end, and the D pulling through for us.

    GO DOGS!!!!!

  22. maxdawg Says:

Thanks for going the extra mile Meridian we need all the help we can get.
Remember no one expected us to win last year. It could happen.

  23. bleedmaroon Says:

I think this will be a mirror image of the Alabama game last year. Defensive battle. Both teams have unproven offenses but experienced defenses. True SEC style game. I believe AU is somewhat over-rated. Dawg defense has to be ready to play a lot of minutes. With a couple of turnovers and some good special teams play, State can win this game.

    State 17
    AU 13

  24. desertdog2005 Says:

  26. imabulldog Says:

Lets rock it boyz! ah ah ah ah ah…..

  27. meridiandog Says:

I never took any drug with that name, but I get all ziggy when I take NoDoze, if that helps.

Actually, Id stay away frm anything with that scary a name if I was you.

Why not just take an aspirin and lay down a while?

  33. OleBull Says:

tgl is it safe for you to think?

  34. thingreenline Says:

OleBull, maybe you should lay off the opiates for a while.

  35. skydawg706 Says:

Hard to pick at exact score –

If Auburn wins, wins by 11 (21-10).

If State wins, wins by 5 or 8 (17-12 or 21-16)

    Worst fear: AU: 38 – MSU: 16

    Aburn injuries ??

AJ Greene DE Out Week 3 (hamstring)
Darrell Roseman OG Out Week 3 (shin)
