MSU-Georgia Tech: Pregame notes

by

• Some lineup changes for MSU: Eric Hoskins to start at fullback (in place of Brandon Hart); Brandon Henderson to start at tight end (in place of Nelson Hurst); Charles Burns to start at left defensive end (in place of Sean Ferguson); Dominic Douglas to start at middle linebacker instead of weakside (replacing Karlin Brown); and Terrell Johnson to start at weakside linebacker. So apparently Anthony Dixon will start at tailback.

• And for Tech: Travis Chambers to start at inside linebacker (in place of Kyle Jackson); and Anthony Barnes to back up Tony Clark at outside linebacker.

• Nobody will wear Jamar Chaney‘s No. 22 today.

• MSU and GT have met twice, with GT winning both times: 27-13 in 1929, and 23-0 in 1908, when a guy named John Heisman was GT’s coach.

• Back then, Tech was known as the Golden Tornado.

• Tech QB Josh Nesbitt set a school record last week when he rushed for 151 yards, the most ever by a Tech quarterback in one game.

• Key stat: GT opponents have converted on third down 44.9% of the time; MSU’s third-down rate is 27.3%.

• Holy crap, I forgot to do a predictions thread this week. My bad. I say: Tech 20, MSU 10.
