On the Links, On Tap

by

• Here is today’s insightful, thought-provoking column. Discuss.

• From The Advocate in Baton Rouge, a story on LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee, and a story on the Tigers’ other QB, Andrew Hatch, who’s still feeling a bit loopy after that concussion he suffered Saturday.

So what’s on tap for today? The weekly press conference, of course, at 1 p.m. I’ll hang around for practice today, which coach Sylvester Croom said on his radio show last night will be a hard-hitting affair. Curious to see who will be full-speed and who might catch the coaches’ eyes. Going to try to catch up with one or two assistant coaches, too, and get their thoughts.

But now, off to the gym.

Tired of the “insightful, thought-provoking column” comment

nothing from crxxm is ever insightful….all those comments he just made are a load of crap….send him packing…

It’s like a song hook, jbuzz. I’ll stop saying it when my columns stop being insightful and thought-provoking (read: never).

I will go ahead and give the quotes-Let’s see how close I am. “We had a good day of practice, we hit well. I saw a spark in the offense and we should be able to move the ball. We have to get better at the intangibles and have some leadership on offense.”

    Uh…we…uhhhh…uh…well, we…uh

How can I hear Crxxm’s radio show from last night? Is there a website with the audio? I heard on AM 930 that he got pretty pissed about the questions being asked. Just wanted to be in the loop on this whole ugly situation. Its really crazy how from Jan to Sept how really bad this has gotten. Anyway if anybody knows where I can listen to the audio I’d appreciate it.

“There’s a buzzword for this week: Pride. Let’s hope they show some Saturday.”

Unfortunately, BL, I’m afraid that’s about all the bulldogs will be playing for on Saturday night.

I’ve got ESP. Here’s what Croom will say:

We had some players really step it up at practice.
We work on executing the play calls.
The players really showed a lot of enthusiasm on the practice field today.
The coaches and I were really impressed with some of the efforts we saw today.
We have to execute during the game Saturday and not make any mistakes.

OUTCOME: An execution is what I fear on Saturday. LSU: 45, MSU: 7

i guess we all judge things differently BL, but the arrogance of your statement, whether meant in jest or not, is… well neither insightful nor thought-provoking. Other than getting tired of that particular line, (which would be a good hook for a one hit wonder maybe) I think you are doing a fine job.

  12. Brad Locke Says:

Thank you, jbuzz. Yes, it’s mostly done in jest. Kind of self-deprecating, in a way. Then again, I am confident in my abilities, which I think is a good thing.

Maybe I’ll mix things up next time. Concise and cogent, how’s that sound?

  13. jbuzz74 Says:

Hey Brad, Its your blog, i was just giving feedback. If you want to keep the insightful and thought-provoking thats your choice. Concise and cogent shows mad alliteration skills, keep up the good work.

  14. Brad Locke Says:

Feedback always welcome here, jbuzz. And I’m all about alliteration.

Would you two stop making me get the freaking dictionary out!!!! Crap.
