With the Bulldogs off this weekend, so am I. You won’t see much of me before Monday. My plan is to mow the grass, spend some time with the family, and watch a little football on the television. That’s all.

I’ll keep this short:
Palin met my expectations. It wasn’t like I thought she’d throw-up on stage. But, she didn’t answer many of the questions. She didn’t provide specifics. She stuck to what she was taught to say by all the behind-the-scenes people. And what I thought was worst of all was the fact that she actually wants the VP to have more power? After Dick Chaney, someone wants a VP to have more power?? Scary.
Biden didn’t do quite as well as I would have liked. But, he was in a tough spot. If he said anything remotely negative toward her, she would have had a line calling him sexist or something stupid like that. Yeah, Biden, the guy who wrote the Violence Against Women Act, is sexist. Whatever; glad that didn’t happen.
JB, I guess you want everyone to watch FoxNews. They’re the only morons, besides Pat Buchanan, who thought she won. If you can’t provide specifics, you can’t win a debate.

OK. Here’s another MSU “what if.” I’m watching ESPN and admiring the abilities of a QB who was barely recruited out of high school in Texas by any D1 colleges…largely because of his height, 5’6″. Coaches ignored his incredible high school record in perhaps the toughest high school arena in the country.
A UT alum and former Texas resident who now lives in Corinth, MS was encouraged by a Texas sports personality to promote this outstanding QB. Long story short…after many emails and phone calls that went unreturned by the newly arrived Sylvester Croom at MSU, one last attempt was made by personal letter to urge Croom and MSU to take a long, hard look at this outstanding prospect. All contacts fell on deaf ears.
The name of this prospect is Chase Daniel…Mizzou QB and taunted heisman candidate…”What if.”

I disagree completely…
With a player like Daniels, after the first few practices you are well aware of what a player like him can do and you build “around” him. With a guy as accurate as he is- you don’t need a great receiving core- when the QB can put it on the #’s.
I was at State, working with the team 02-05, and we had a # of players who thrived even under terrible coaching from Sherrills ‘one yr’ staff. Talent and the ‘cream’ always rises to the top- it can’t be contained.
One other important aspect, that we missed out on- is in the process of
recruiting the player, you know what he’s capable of and what you can do with him.
My point is, if Daniels was at State, he’d still be great, not ‘heisman’, but great, because he has the talent. And the playbook would be around him.
We haven’t had a star QB, we recruit basic players- instead we recruit RB’s, and our playbook and CC’s 5 years have shown that.
I feel like we can do a lot more with Lee, OPEN it up please?!?
And as far as OleMiss 1581, why don’t you chew on that loss today big boy. How’s it feel back here on earth. Have fun next week too.

Why waste time talking about who we coulda, shoulda, woulda got.
That’s like talking about how, supposedly, Spurrier almost coached at State, or Chris Webber almost signed with State, or all those players Stans has lost to the NBA or other reasons.
The bottom line is the football sucks with what we have because the coaching is more than reflective of what is left on the field. Actually, I think the players have more desire to win than the coaches.
I’m glad to see we have someone covering State sports that isn’t going to sugar-coat everything, and just say it like it is.

But that’s the kind of fear the Republicans are trying to circulate throughout the country. He does not practice the muslim religion. That’s been proven a long time ago and is a non-issue.
And what if he did? It’s the extremists that are the problem, not the ordinary muslim. Or is it that you just don’t like people who are not like yourself? If the religious views of the person you vote for president are that important, are you going to vote for McCain? What are his specific religious views? Do you even know, because he sure as hell doesn’t talk about it. Does he go to church? Have you even seen him campaign by going to a church? I haven’t. But that doesn’t matter the slightest bit to me, because the role of the president is to lead and run our country, not harp on his religious views while denying the country to a woman’s right to choose, equal rights to everyone, and stem cell research. The “family values” slogan was something adopted by the Republicans during the 1980’s. Look it up. I’m all about family values, but how has the family values-oriented government helped us, other than giving us something extra to hear in campaign commercials? How is McCain going to help us? He won’t give specifics, just like people are saying about Obama. It shouldn’t (I won’t say can’t) get much worse than it is under Bush, so why elect someone who has voted alongside him 96% of the time?
I want someone who will make ethical, sound judgements while running this country. I don’t give a damn if he’s muslim, jewish, or athiest. If you want a Chrisitian-right guy, go ahead. But that crap hasn’t benefited us yet.

What was on the news about Wright were snipets taken from his long tenure as pastor. I’m not taking up for it, but come on. Anyone can be blamed for guilty-by-association in one form or another. That issue died a while back, until McCain’s people will raise it again along with the terrorist deal (which is totally false).
It’s McCain’s last chance to savor a chance at the White House, and he’s pulling out all the stops to elevate his smear campaign to a higher level. He’ll probably mention them both in the debates, too. But like everything else McCain has tried thus far, it has backfired on him (i.e., “I’m going to suspend my campaign to fix the bailout problem”).
