Getting Scarce

by

With the Bulldogs off this weekend, so am I. You won’t see much of me before Monday. My plan is to mow the grass, spend some time with the family, and watch a little football on the television. That’s all.

In case I don’t find the time to get on here tomorrow, remember to check djfootballblitz.wordpress.com to read the GameDay section, Week 6 edition. And as I mentioned earlier, I’ll have a progress report in Sunday’s paper, and a look-ahead in Monday’s.

So have a good one.

  2. 2thdoc Says:

Enjoy the break Brad. Don’t be slipping off to any soccer games in TN like GG.

  3. olemiss1581 Says:

hey look at the bright side, at least the Starkville High Bulldoggs cant lose this weekend. haha bunch of skanks

  4. bigdraws Says:

Times like these makes me want to rethink my stance against abortion.

  5. olemiss1581 Says:

yea i dont blame you, if I were a bulldog i would have wanted to be aborted also. lol

  6. bigdraws Says:

Was talking about you. Legal abortion wouldn’t have mattered for your mother anyways. If she’d have just been a better aim with a coat hanger we wouldn’t be hearing from you. It may have just been bc her hanger was dull from using it on car doors. Or cleaning out her crack pipe. Dumb bitch.

  7. The Prez Says:

    1581, you lol alot

  8. bigdraws Says:

He’s not laughing prez. It’s just a hairlip.

  9. thingreenline Says:

He does say lol and hahaha alot. I wonder if 1581 is a girl.

  10. BirdZ! Says:

    Can’t be a girl not enough 🙂 or 8) or 😉

  11. bigdraws Says:

Not talking about A1 sauce either. That’s a dead giveaway.

  12. The Prez Says:

could be Gregg? he does spell bulldogs with 2 g’s. i’m just sayin’…………

  13. stempster Says:

If I ever see this chip-on-my-shoulder, societel scourge better know as Ole Mi$$ 1581, I’m gonna kick his ass like a red-headed step child…Come to think of it, that’s what he and his little dastardly rebels have in common. They can be equated to the red-head step child. Loser.

  14. cnd46 Says:

First, Ole Miss 1581, Starkville High are the Yellow Jackets, anyone from this state would know that. I personally don’t follow them, too busy with accounting. Second of all, you are a little person, not in the physical sense, but in the mental sense. I am sorry that you didn’t graduate the sixth grade, but to come on other school’s blogs is pretty pathetic. You better get Christ and grow up before something bad happens to you.

  15. Jimmy Barbee Says:

The only smiling face I see on this blog today is Birdz. cnd46 you should have one on yours after last evening’s debate. Palin a huge winner in this debate according to my estimation.
I must say olemiss1581 brings lots of excitement to this blog.

  16. cnd46 Says:

I am very happy JB and I did enjoy the debate

  17. bigdraws Says:

I didn’t watch it, but I heard Palin fumbled around a bit. I’m a McCain guy, just what I heard.

  18. dawgface52 Says:

Must have been a Democrat that said she “fumbled around a bit”. She didn’t fumble at all. Easily held her own.

  19. Jimmy Barbee Says:

I Agree, dawgface52, She didn’t fumble. Any fumbling and stumbling it was Biden.

  20. thespear Says:

She was very confident and not afraid to stick it to Biden. I think he asked for her number afterwards…

  21. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Draws, you must have been getting your report from CNN,ABC,NBC,CBS and PBS. Change your news media outlets. I thing that you will then get a fair political report.

  22. imabulldog Says:

JB, I’m smilin’, especially for Palin- she held her own. Let’s not get political boys, it always gets ugly.

JB, get this stupid rebel off our site, he’s giving y’all a bad name

  23. Jimmy Barbee Says:

ima, I am afraid that “this stupid rebel” may be one of your own under disguise. Don’t think that I have seen any posting by olemiss1581 on the other site.

  24. bigdraws Says:

He’s Farley, jb. I’m glad to hear about Palin doing well. I’ve heard others that would disagree. My vote is firm though. No obama for me.

  25. thingreenline Says:

    I’ll keep this short:

Palin met my expectations. It wasn’t like I thought she’d throw-up on stage. But, she didn’t answer many of the questions. She didn’t provide specifics. She stuck to what she was taught to say by all the behind-the-scenes people. And what I thought was worst of all was the fact that she actually wants the VP to have more power? After Dick Chaney, someone wants a VP to have more power?? Scary.

Biden didn’t do quite as well as I would have liked. But, he was in a tough spot. If he said anything remotely negative toward her, she would have had a line calling him sexist or something stupid like that. Yeah, Biden, the guy who wrote the Violence Against Women Act, is sexist. Whatever; glad that didn’t happen.

JB, I guess you want everyone to watch FoxNews. They’re the only morons, besides Pat Buchanan, who thought she won. If you can’t provide specifics, you can’t win a debate.

  26. thingreenline Says:

I’ll bet olepiss1581 is a McCain supporter. He’s always on the attack and he can’t give specifics for his own cause.

  27. thespear Says:

no, he’s probably in your obama camp

  28. goldendawg Says:

The mighty webels were beat at home by the ol’ ball coach.
Welcome back to the real world, 1581.

  29. skydawg706 Says:

What happen to “olemiss1581” – must have saw the SC & Ole Miss score.

  30. wishbonedawg Says:

OK. Here’s another MSU “what if.” I’m watching ESPN and admiring the abilities of a QB who was barely recruited out of high school in Texas by any D1 colleges…largely because of his height, 5’6″. Coaches ignored his incredible high school record in perhaps the toughest high school arena in the country.

A UT alum and former Texas resident who now lives in Corinth, MS was encouraged by a Texas sports personality to promote this outstanding QB. Long story short…after many emails and phone calls that went unreturned by the newly arrived Sylvester Croom at MSU, one last attempt was made by personal letter to urge Croom and MSU to take a long, hard look at this outstanding prospect. All contacts fell on deaf ears.

The name of this prospect is Chase Daniel…Mizzou QB and taunted heisman candidate…”What if.”

  31. thingreenline Says:

If that’s true, wishbonedawg, it would still have taken an OC and other staff to develop him into a quality NCAA QB. And provide him with a productive playbook and offensive scheme. Mizzou may have that over there, but we don’t.

  32. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Nah skydawg,”olemiss1581″ is probably one of your, could be TGL or Farley.

  33. thingreenline Says:

Why in the world would I waste my time posing as a real-to-life UM fan? It’s just someone with nothing better to do with his life.

  34. imabulldog Says:

    I disagree completely…

With a player like Daniels, after the first few practices you are well aware of what a player like him can do and you build “around” him. With a guy as accurate as he is- you don’t need a great receiving core- when the QB can put it on the #’s.

I was at State, working with the team 02-05, and we had a # of players who thrived even under terrible coaching from Sherrills ‘one yr’ staff. Talent and the ‘cream’ always rises to the top- it can’t be contained.

One other important aspect, that we missed out on- is in the process of
recruiting the player, you know what he’s capable of and what you can do with him.

My point is, if Daniels was at State, he’d still be great, not ‘heisman’, but great, because he has the talent. And the playbook would be around him.

We haven’t had a star QB, we recruit basic players- instead we recruit RB’s, and our playbook and CC’s 5 years have shown that.

I feel like we can do a lot more with Lee, OPEN it up please?!?

And as far as OleMiss 1581, why don’t you chew on that loss today big boy. How’s it feel back here on earth. Have fun next week too.

  35. imabulldog Says:

I know I was all over the place, but I was trying to say that coaching and a OC would be unable to contain the talent of a player like Daniels. It would be denying your team W’s, and job suicide as a OC

  36. bigdraws Says:

“I was at State, working with the team 02-05,”

    God bless your soul Ima.

  37. imabulldog Says:

I know man…and my grandma almost died, on what day???

The UF upset!!! I was called home right before kick off. She lived-thank God, but man did it suck not being there. Instead I watched every play from the ICU lobby, right next to who- my cuz who is a huge Gator fan…made my day 🙂

  38. bigdraws Says:

It all comes back around don’t it. The man upstairs has a crazy since of humor.

  39. imabulldog Says:

    that’s the truth…

  40. thingreenline Says:

Why waste time talking about who we coulda, shoulda, woulda got.
That’s like talking about how, supposedly, Spurrier almost coached at State, or Chris Webber almost signed with State, or all those players Stans has lost to the NBA or other reasons.

The bottom line is the football sucks with what we have because the coaching is more than reflective of what is left on the field. Actually, I think the players have more desire to win than the coaches.

I’m glad to see we have someone covering State sports that isn’t going to sugar-coat everything, and just say it like it is.

  41. bulldogs4life Says:

A man of muslim decent leading America???? Scaryyyyy thought. That’s all i have to say about the issue.

  42. thingreenline Says:

You’re about two days behind on that topic, bulldogs4life.

But that’s the kind of fear the Republicans are trying to circulate throughout the country. He does not practice the muslim religion. That’s been proven a long time ago and is a non-issue.

And what if he did? It’s the extremists that are the problem, not the ordinary muslim. Or is it that you just don’t like people who are not like yourself? If the religious views of the person you vote for president are that important, are you going to vote for McCain? What are his specific religious views? Do you even know, because he sure as hell doesn’t talk about it. Does he go to church? Have you even seen him campaign by going to a church? I haven’t. But that doesn’t matter the slightest bit to me, because the role of the president is to lead and run our country, not harp on his religious views while denying the country to a woman’s right to choose, equal rights to everyone, and stem cell research. The “family values” slogan was something adopted by the Republicans during the 1980’s. Look it up. I’m all about family values, but how has the family values-oriented government helped us, other than giving us something extra to hear in campaign commercials? How is McCain going to help us? He won’t give specifics, just like people are saying about Obama. It shouldn’t (I won’t say can’t) get much worse than it is under Bush, so why elect someone who has voted alongside him 96% of the time?

I want someone who will make ethical, sound judgements while running this country. I don’t give a damn if he’s muslim, jewish, or athiest. If you want a Chrisitian-right guy, go ahead. But that crap hasn’t benefited us yet.

  43. thingreenline Says:

McCain has stooped to the level of running a campaign (negative and mud-slinging) that he fought for years to do away with.

But, hey, that was back in the years when he was a man of honor (excluding his ethics scandal in the 80’s). Now he’s just a creepy old man who has sold himself like a $30-for-anal-whore just to be the president.

  44. thespear Says:

so he doesn’t practice Islam thingreenline…. I suppose you think a member of a sect of Racial Extremists is a whole lot better than a Muslim for the Oval Office?

  45. thingreenline Says:

I’m not even sure what you mean by that spear. Who said anything about anyone being a member of “a sect of racial extremists”? What has Sean Hannity informed you of regarding that?

I hope you’re not referring to the community organizer thing. That would be a total abuse of the race card; but not suprising when used by the GOP.

  46. thingreenline Says:

And if you’re talking about the Jeremiah Wright thing, hell, that was old news during the primaries.

Since the large majority of Obama’s supporters are white, do you really think that’s a valid arguement spear? Come on, you have to do better than that! That’s a joke.

  47. Jimmy Barbee Says:

TGL, glad that you mention Jeremiah Wright Pastor of Obama’s house of worship for 26 years. A pastor who in his sermons damning america and “G-ddamn america. Today news Obama is linked to terrorist Bill Ayers.

  48. thingreenline Says:

What was on the news about Wright were snipets taken from his long tenure as pastor. I’m not taking up for it, but come on. Anyone can be blamed for guilty-by-association in one form or another. That issue died a while back, until McCain’s people will raise it again along with the terrorist deal (which is totally false).
It’s McCain’s last chance to savor a chance at the White House, and he’s pulling out all the stops to elevate his smear campaign to a higher level. He’ll probably mention them both in the debates, too. But like everything else McCain has tried thus far, it has backfired on him (i.e., “I’m going to suspend my campaign to fix the bailout problem”).

  49. thingreenline Says:

JB, read this and tell me how big an issue the Ayers really thing is. It’s kinda hard for McCain to make those accusations when he has someone in his own corner who has publicly told people to shoot ATF agents in the head if they come on your property.

In a Youtube and video phone era, nobody will make it through a public campaign squeaky-clean.

  50. imabulldog Says:

TGL, my question would be one based off of facts. Such as, would you you explain the political financial endorsements of over 26 million dollars from middle eastern countries, such as Assyria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia? Not to mention another 330 million dollars in donations from people who Obama refuses to identify? Those are facts, and haven’t been Hannitized.

And I want a Godly man in office, and I’m sorry, but by the Gospel of Christ, the he has not been apart of a gospel preaching church. You are a true democrat- if you can’t see pass that.

And be careful talking about ‘values’, which comes from a term developed by a man who declared in his writings “God is Dead”, a man by the name of Frederik Nieche.

I’m done posting political things, so your response will go unanswered by me-because I hate politics. I like you TGL, but political talk goes no where

  51. thingreenline Says:

I meant, “… how big an issue the Ayers thing really is. …”

And that article was from May 4th, so it’s not exactly new information.

  52. imabulldog Says:

And I just realized how forward and harsh that sounded so I do apologize my friend. No harshness included

  53. thingreenline Says:

I didn’t take it that way, ima.

But I would like to see where you got that info from. But I would guess McCain has similar funding as well. Just like how they both have had money given to them from corporate banks, which raises questions about the bailout.

And it is a globalized economy, afterall. It doesn’t mean the money was sent by bomb-wearing terrorists.

It’s either talk about this on a boring Sunday, or how to fix MSU’s offense: both go nowhere.

If people would have become more engaged years ago in what their government was doing, we might not have been so deep in this mess.

  54. Jimmy Barbee Says:

TGL, I really think that we need a President who is willing to fight terrorism, not one that is in sympathy with them nor taking their contributions, nor one that sits in Church pew for 26 years and hearing the pastor sermons damning america. Sorry, but that’s the way I feel. We are still a Christian nation, “In God We Trust”. How long will this last? Don’t know. I think that our time is running out.

Obama has been justly criticized for his ties to former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers, who in 1995 hosted a campaign event for Obama and in 2001 gave him a $200 contribution. The two have also served together on the board of a foundation.

William Charles “Bill” Ayers (born 26 December 1944)[1] is an American elementary education theorist, and former leading 1960s militant. He is known for the radical nature of his activism in the 1960s and 1970s, as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum and instruction.

  55. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Gota get off this politics and back to sports. Thinking about the upcoming Egg Bowl. Don’t know why its on a Friday. I think that it should be played on Thursday, Thanksgiving day. Just my thoughts.

State fans, please don’t let in your mind that the last two games that the Rebels have lost at Oxford will last. Any of your hopes for victory there, just forget it.

  56. bigdraws Says:

You mean the last nine times don’t you JB. I just can’t get on board with ole’bama. He kinda reminds me of King Herod.

  57. bigdraws Says:

ok. Maybe not nine. They’ve still lost more than two in a row at home.

  58. bigdraws Says:

    sec games that is.

  59. Jimmy Barbee Says:

Draws, you really depress me. Now I must look back!! My Rebels last home win in the SEC?? Got it!!! Was 25 Nov 2006 20-17 win over, guess who?

  60. bulldogs4life Says:

Oh sorry greenline. I didn’t realize the statute of limitations had run out on this topic. Secondly, i’m not a part of any party. Just going with my gut. I choose to stay out of politics because it’s mostly lies, spinning, and dirty anyway and I try to surround myself with positive things. I try not to let MTV sway my vote like most young americans.

  61. bigdraws Says:

Yeah, yeah. Who else would it be LOL!!

  62. bigdraws Says:

“I try to surround myself with positive things.”

You do realize this is an MSU sports blog don’t you?

  63. thingreenline Says:

    Good one, draws.

bulldogs4life, I didn’t know it was the hard work of MTV that has Obama leading the poles. A lot of those new registered voters probably won’t take the time to actually vote anyways.

JB, it’s those kinds of blanket comments that give the GOP a bad name. Thanks for adding to it. Taking contributions from terrorists……you’ve got to be f’king kidding me.

I don’t affiliate myself with any certain party either. I don’t think I’ve ever voted for a Democrat before prior to the latest primaries, other than local stuff. I’m just sick of how things are going and I’m not voting for an old prick who has molded himself in the last eight years into another Bush.

And dirty politics won it for Bush’s elections, and I can’t stand to see it possibly happen for McCain as well. I hope he falls and breaks a hip.

  64. wishbonedawg Says:

Welcome to the “greenline political blog.” Geeezzzz.

  65. thingreenline Says:

Yep, b/c we all know this football season’s success is an enjoyable 24/7 topic.

  66. bantyrooster1 Says:

Greenline, it seems as if you can’t back a winner anywhere you go. Believe the polls and trust in your great political knowledge but Obama will finish second. Please say something retarded. It always makes my day go by faster.

  67. thingreenline Says:

    You are self-righteous prick.

What you have to say got old two weeks ago. If you want to say the same thing about me, fine, but at least people sometimes respond to what I have to say.

I think I am the only one left that recognizes your existence, but that will stop….right now.

  68. thingreenline Says:

You are A self-righteous prick. A take that measly Bulldog Club contribution and stick it up your ass.

  69. thingreenline Says:

    “And take….”
    Damnit.
See banty, you f**k up everything you’re involved with.

Go ahead and insert your well thought out comeback. It will go unnoticed. You’re a tool and no one cares about your numerous threats to not give money until Croom is gone. Move on.

  70. thingreenline Says:

Actually i really would like to hear your well thought out comeback. I’ve been so narrow minded for so long. I think its time i listen and truly appreciate someone else opinion. So please, go on. I promise you it won’t go unnoticed.

  71. bantyrooster1 Says:

I’m sorry we got off on the wrong foot. I don’t like to fight. But I do like to wear tights.

  72. thingreenline Says:

Thats so weird! I have some tights that i wear to SEC home games that have a maroon leg and a white leg. I have an extra pair……..

  73. bantyrooster1 Says:

Thanks. I’ve got some too. That’s how I learned to walk like a chicken. Hence the name bantyrooster. My gardener Raul seems to like it.

  74. Braves Dawg Says:

it stinks like sex in here……..

  75. bantyrooster1 Says:

Shave your mustache. That oughta get rid of the smell. Shoulda warned you what a mustache ride really means.

  76. thingreenline Says:

I’ve got a garden too. If you would have told me we both wear tights i would have said thats a coincidence. Now, you’re telling me you garden as well? Thats just fate. I can’t believe how i acted towards you. I am truly sorry. I would shake your hand but i feel i need to hug you.

  77. bantyrooster1 Says:

If I’d would have known this I’d have worn my sailor outfit!!!

  78. thingreenline Says:

Seriously Braves Dawg. Shave the mustache. I hate them. Too ticklish on my neck. Speaking of tickling…..who wants to have a virtual tickle fight?!?!

  79. thingreenline Says:

oh……..my……….gawd……please don’t tell me you were in the Navy too?!

  80. bantyrooster1 Says:

    Nah. Village People.

  81. thingreenline Says:

    oh…….

  82. bantyrooster1 Says:

    face?

  83. thingreenline Says:

i’ve still got my old Navy uniform. I’ve got the sleeves cut off and the pants cut off about 7 inches above the knee. I just wear it occasionally. Like Friday and Saturday nights.

  84. bantyrooster1 Says:

Me too. I’m a dancer at the blue oyster bar. You should check it out sometime. We’ve got two for one zima’s on friday night. And penny daquiris on Thursdays!!

  85. thingreenline Says:

OMG. i don’t know how you drink Zima’s. They are waaay to strong for my taste. I like a good daiquiri though. I’ve been there before though. I just don’t remember much about it if you know what i mean. lol

  86. Braves Dawg Says:

is this the blue oyster blog? it is, isn’t it?

locke, stock and two smoking what?

  87. bantyrooster1 Says:

I think you’d be ok. They’re the low carb zima’s.

  88. thingreenline Says:

Braves Dawg, you need to back up before you get smacked up. lol. we’re trying to have a mature adult conversation. lol. you’re probably not even old enough to drink. lol. unless you want me to buy you some and bring it over. wait, you’re not Chris Hansen are you???? lol. but seriously, are you???
