On the Links

by

Here, faithful readers, is today’s upbeat column about the MSU Bulldogs. Anything’s possible in the SEC, right? (But for the record, I’m still picking Vandy this week.)

Radio right now, then off to Starkville for the day. Need to fill up that Blog Bag, folks.

    Only a little, man.

    1-11 or 2-10 What’s the difference?

As bad as the Hogs are, I believe that they will find a way to beat the Dawgs!

Deaddawg, you must be a deaddawg-with that attitude đŸ™‚

Anyway, I feel great about this game. Can’t wait to be back in StarkVegas.

One thing we dont need to expect is Vandy coming in ”Big Headed”, because teams under Bobby Johnson dont get big-headed.

But, I think our boys know what they have thrown away this year, but they also know what remains. I say they come and play passionatley, hard-nosed, we get more than we expected on the ground and in the air, and that our D shows up in a big way.

I hope this week, they can get a couple of you guys to get your heads up! No im not happy about 1-4, or with McCorvey, but I am an optomist-and dang proud of it!!! Unless, Im confused on what always being a State fan actually is.

Arkansas is terrible, so is UT, Uk is beatable, and gues what so is ‘overranked’ and ‘unproven’ Bama and Ole Missy.

What fans forget to remember is the way the Dawgs play on the field. Horrible play calling and game mngt lead to a losing season. Hey, those Bama athletic dept staff are not dumb. They removed McCorvey after one season in 1996 as OC! We have hung onto him for 5 seasons! Tell me, to whom does the view of denial lie?

  6. deaddawg1 Says:

ima, your optimism is impressive!!!! Please tell me what you have seen in this years team that raises your expectations. I have not seen any confidence and intensity level of play necessary to win SEC games. In addition, I’ve seen no help on the sidelines. All I’ve seen – bad decisions
and doubt in the players. I would love to see a turn-around, but I’m afraid the odds are against it.

I have been a huge Croom supporter for his 1st 4 years. Even after a few losses this year I was still in his corner. However, after watching us give up in the 1st half of the LSU game with over 1 minute to play and all 3 time outs just disgusted me. Croom’s reasoning was that he did not want to screw up and give LSU another scoring chance. We just ran the ball up the gut and still managed a 1st down, yet we still decided to run out the clock near midfield.

Memo to the coaching staff: You need to score more points than your opponent to win the game. Great defense cannot alone win games. You need a competant, complementary offense so that you can score more points than your opponent. Look at the Auburn game.

I used to feel that if Croom would fire McCorvey, I would still give Croom another year or 2. But Croom is loyal and faithful to a fault. I love Croom, but he is not getting the job done.

first of all, your attitude just proved my point Deaddawg.

What intensity have I seen from this team?
    Hmmmmmmm….
    (1) being one play away from possibly beating LSU (see Ducre)
    (2) almost beating Auburn
    (3) most importantly, the man who’ll lead us to victory this weekend and others this year- Tyson Lee

I know changes need to be made, especially McCorvey, but do we write our season off now, do we suck our thumbs and pitch a fit, do we coward out and play with our tail between our legs?

We can either act like spoiled Ole Miss fratboys who complain because the got the red range rover instead of the blue one, or we can get behind our team and try and salvage what’s left of our season.

And not sarcastically said- Keep the Faith

My main point to you was- Arkansas, really? They couldn’t beat their scout team. And it shows

  9. imabulldog Says:

If you don’t think we can beat Arky, Uk, UM, and UT then you don’t need to come to any more games this year.

Sell your tickets to opposing fans, throw away your cowbell, burn all you have that is Maroon.

This team has a lot of fight left in them, we’ll see it Saturday- heck we saw at LSU

    And the choir said…Aaaaamen!
