Good Monday to You

I’m sure all of y’all are a little more cheerful than you normally would be for a Monday. In that spirit, here is today’s look back at Saturday’s 17-14 win over Vanderbilt.

Here’s an excerpt from Ron Higgins of the Commercial Appeal, wondering what I’m sure thousands of Vanderbilt fans were wondering Saturday:

“Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson‘s allegiance to starting quarterback Chris Nickson cost the Commodores a victory on Saturday in their 17-14 loss at Mississippi State. It’s incredible that a week after backup quarterback Mackenzi Adams rallied Vandy to a 14-13 win over Auburn, in a poised performance in which Adams threw for two TDs and made virtually all the right decisions, that he doesn’t get off the bench at Mississippi State until there’s 13:27 left to play and Vandy is trailing 17-7?”

I was wondering why he didn’t put Adams in there earlier, too. I’m glad he didn’t.

    BTW, good article today BL.

I think our defense would had stopped either of their QB in the game.

I agree with Skydawg. Vandy wouldn’t have had such an easy drive like the one they had on Adams first drive any earlier with Adam @ QB. After we went up 17-7 with 12 minutes left in the game our coaches put our defense in prevent. The whole drive we never had more than 3 down linemen. My only problem with the defense is when we go into prevent. There’s just not enough pressure on the QB. I could have made the passes Adams made with that kind of time. However, it’s still amazing that with just 3 guys rushing they were still able to get to Adams a couple of times.
