Blog Bag: Hit Me

Fill it up, people. Football, basketball, and what the heck, baseball. I’m hoping to catch up with John Cohen this week. The Diamond Dogs wrap up fall drills this weekend. The Maroon/White World Series will be played Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at Dudy Noble Field.

And speaking of baseball, I’ve somehow failed to post their 2009 schedule on here. So in case you’ve not seen it yet, here’s the link.

i would ask about the clark thing but i already know what he will say even though i just cant get over the fact that he did that to that kid…

is crxxm going to grasp for anymore straws this year and burn anymore shirts??…

so i read that sec schools are getting $15 million due to the sec deal…can we not use this to buy out crxxm’s contract??… there is talk about tenn and auburn doing this…

and finally ask crxxm what nfl position coaching job he is going to apply for or accept in november??

I don’t care for scuttlebutts (rumors)- I just had some alumni stop by to inform me that a great many of the assistant coaches are job hunting? Have you heard of any looking out for the what looks like is just a matter of weeks away? The Croominator gets Croomed.

Many MSU fans have expressed concern over where the scoring would come from on this year’s basketball team. Did the scrimmage Saturday indicate that Johnson and Bost are ready to lead the charge, or did the way the scrimmage was played lead to the inflated offensive numbers?

Ask Coach Cohen to asses the depth of his pitching staff and to break down how his starters stack up and how his closers/late inning pitchers will be able to hold on to leads.

Also, how have the players responded to his workout regimine.

Have the hitters taken well to his teaching methods? Who will be his best hitter and all around player(s)?

What is the status of a catcher that can handle pitchers and run the game. Big hole for us last year. Who is his favorite Mstate back-up catcher?

How has his family adjusted to Starkville?

  5. Brad Locke Says:

Dang, biloxi, I could write a season preview off the answers to those questions. I’ll do the best I can to get those answered.

  6. biloxi13 Says:

If you have to talk to him, you might as well have something to ask. I have know John for a long time and I already know the answers to all of these questions, just trying to stir some interest and get some chatter going about Baseball given the nice season we’re having in FB and the youth we will have in Basketball.

BL, If memory serves, Croom gave the team a day off during the week of the UK game. Seemed to improve morale and we won the game. (full disclosure: I didn’t agree with the move)

Any plans on doing that this year for this or another game?
