Bye Week Begins

by

Mississippi State gets the week off, though I’m sure it will be working hard to try and figure out a way to beat Alabama a third straight time. That’s No. 1 Alabama.

Playing the way it did against Kentucky on Saturday won’t get it done. Here’s a look back at the game.

The SEC has released its players of the week list, and a Kentucky player was honored for what he did in that 14-13 win over MSU.

• Offense: QB Casey Dick, Arkansas (25-38-1, 385 yards, 1 TD)

• Defense: DB Joe Haden, Florida (10 tackles, 1 INT)

• Special teams: P Spencer Lanning, South Carolina (45.0 yards per kick, three inside 20)

• Offensive line: G Maurice Miller, Ole Miss (92 percent grade, 4 knockdowns)

• Defensive line: DE Ventrell Jenkins, Kentucky (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

• Freshman: RB Mark Ingram, Alabama (12 carries, 113 yards, 2 TDs)
