More Bama Links

by

Yeah, kind of a slow week, blog-wise anyway. I’m doing plenty of writing today, though. Got a notebook for tomorrow’s paper – an around campus kind of thing – plus a story on a couple of Arkansas State players who hail from this area. Even though MSU and Ole Miss are both off this week, we’re still putting out a GameDay, which means I have a story for that. Then there’s the recruiting update for Sunday. Still trying to get ahold of some players.

So, in the meantime, thought I’d link up some more Alabama-related material. Hey, it’s the next opponent, and it’s the No. 1 team in the country.

• From The Birmingham News we learn that coach Nick Saban is wanting more big plays out of his offense (sound familiar?).

• From the Mobile Press Register, a comparison is made to the 2005 Alabama team, which was also 9-0 heading into the LSU game. They’re hoping for a different outcome this time.

• And the Montgomery Advertiser asks of the LSU defense, “So what’s the problem?”

I think we’ll adopt Alabama-LSU as our game of the week. Might even drop a prediction thread on you tomorrow.

Hey Brad are you going to be covering the Miss. State Hockey Team. I know they are playing Loyola University the 14th and 15th at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo. They are currently 0-2.
    Here is there website: http://www.dawgicehockey.org/

Won’t be covering, although it might be interesting to go see it. I will have a note about it in tomorrow’s notebook.

And FYI, everybody, that story I have planned on the Arkansas State kids has been postponed.

I just hope my Doc don’t read this, since he is from Tide U., but I have this feeling that the Tide will see their firsts defeat this weekend. Still believe the Tide is second to Gators. I would just like to add this about my Rebs, they can hold their own against both these teams. They proved this!!!.

Hey Jimmy, it always helps to have a proven head coach. Unlike MSU. Congrats on the success so far. Looks like we’ll get to see who is best in the SEC championship game. I think Bama will take em in head to head.

I think the Gators are the real deal, and have been the real deal-except for one week, when that ‘other’ team beat em’, thanks to some terrible TO’s by UF. Which was also the only reason why the Bama game was even close as well.

With all that said, I wish we had a coach like the ‘other’ team has, that-or better coaches surrounding our coach-that could give him enough encouragement to actually show some energy before, after, and during our games.

I wish we were competing like Ole Missy is

ima, we can’t compete with inferior coaching. After nearly five years and looking at a 3 and 9 season, I consider that indisputable evidence we have inferior coaching.

I wish that I knew where I could get a crying towel larger enough to absorb some the crocodile tears being shed by some Miss State fans. I don’t think that Russell Corp has enough material to supply this demand. Some fans cannot be happy regardless of any situation. Coach Croom has built a defensive team at Miss State that is second to none. Just the O team is not helping out as it should. Please give the man and his coaching staff time to get the other half of this football team up and running.

rushing defense is next to last in the sec…looks like we are second to a few…our defense is pretty good but not dominant or anything….not to mention how bad special teams along with the offense has been since he has been here….i can see why an ole miss fan would want us to keep him….

  10. Jimmy Barbee Says:

I don’t like to see people loose their jobs, when they are trying, even football coaches when their football teams don’t meet expection of some fans.

  11. carwwest Says:

nobody wants bad stuff to happen to people but this is the real world and this is my team…and when you are making 1 million plus a year, you have absolutely nothing to complain about…we arent paying him to try, we are paying him to see results…
