On the Sunday Links

Well, MSU and Alabama will kick off at 6:45 p.m. on ESPN this Saturday. Which means the MSU men’s basketball team will play at 2 against Centenary in the season opener.

Here is today’s recruiting update, with a focus on the Bulldogs’ need for speed. And here is Alabama-LSU central.

Now, I’m headed to my great-grandparents’ house this afternoon to help them celebrate 70 years of matrimony. Check y’all later.

Has the kickoff time been set for AL-MSU…man we owe Croom a beatdown

  2. imabulldog Says:

    You’re an idiot Bamar,

Anyway, why do I only see 2 or 3 O-Line on that list. Your Rbs and Wrs and Qbs can do nothing if you don’t have a good O-Line.

We need that before all else. Then we can worry about recruiting the players who’ll run or catch

  3. imabulldog Says:

Bamaman, maybe y’all will score an Off. TD this yr. You don’t owe us a beatdown, I’d just start with your “O” trying to find paydirt first

  4. bamamanreturns Says:

Wow. Touchy, but not surprising. I wouldn’t expect a Bulldog to be able to recognize what offense looks like.

  5. darkcooger Says:

I love how the Bama fans come crawling out of the woodwork as soon as their team doesn’t look like garbage. We Bulldog fans are no more or less visible than we’ve ever been. We can’t be classified as fair-weather by any stretch of the imagination, unlike you elephant lovers.

By the way, do you know the outcome of the last game between Mississippi State and a #1-ranked Alabama? Yeah, the 1980 Bulldogs sucked, too, but they still beat Bama.

  6. thespear Says:

yep, would be great to hear Jack yell on Saturday…”Bulldogs recover, bulldogs recover!!!!!”

  7. Brad Locke Says:

Bamaman, the kickoff time is mentioned right at the beginning of my post.

  8. db33 Says:

One correction. I’ve read a lot of interviews with Cam Lawrence, and he’s totally being recruited for defense, specifically safety.

  9. RoastBeef1 Says:

Yeah, I read the same on Lawrence being recruited as a safety. Don’t understand why Bumphis wants to go to Florida. They already got players just like him with actual experience and can recruit even more if they chose. I figured Montez Phillips will end up as a DB wherever he goes and William Shumpert to just be a FB.

  10. carwwest Says:

yeah i thought the same about lawrence….looks like he has the side to be a good strong safety….but i dont see bumphis or patterson coming to state, just dont…i dont much about montez phillips though….but what are we talking aboug guys, i thought clark was the homerun hitter we have been missing for years?? haha…doesnt matter how much speed and talent we recruit because crxxm and wxxdy have no clue how to use it….but about the o-line, i hope crxxm has a plan for that because i seem to remember the days kevin fant would take a 5 step drop and the d-line would be back there before he would…but i guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens….but i dont think we have a prayer this weekend as much i hate to say that because i hate bama…they are not going to look past us this year and it is at bama….could be a long night especially since we are going to be on tv….

  11. imabulldog Says:

If you could READ bummerman, you’d see that I was specifically talking about state and bama matchups. Whatever happens, you get killed by Uf in the SEC championship, and no famous paintings come out this year for all you igmos to bow down and worship. Get a life, before we give you the “mom’s basement” talk again

  12. db33 Says:

Carwest, they want to come to MSU but the only reason they haven’t committed is our offense. Can you blame them?

Here’s what HAS to happen. Immediately following the season, Wxxdy has to GO! Move him into the office, whatever it takes.

Then Cxach Crxxm has to hire someone like Gus Mahlzahn from Tulsa. Someone with a great rep for wide open offense.

Bumphis & Patterson will fall over themselves to commit. Bumphis’s main love of Florida is what? Urban Meyer’s offense. He doesn’t want to go that far away. And, Bama is a running team. Patterson has other options. But, we can seal the deal with both if we make a move in December to a new direction on offense.

    Byrne, make it happen!

  13. carwwest Says:

thats my point though, db…i dont think crxxm will make a drastic change like that because he is after all, the crxxminator….i think byrne has the gonads to make that change but it will be interesting to see what happens when byrne pressures crxxm….im hoping he just quits, but we all know mississippi state fans arent that lucky….
