On the Links: Praising Lee

by

Had a column in today’s paper about MSU quarterback Tyson Lee, a.k.a. Mr. Sunshine – and I don’t mean that in a sarcastic manner. Love this kid’s attitude.

From The Birmingham News, we read about Alabama star safety Rashad Johnson. Lee had many good things to say about Johnson, and you’ll read those comments at some point in the near future.

And ESPN.com’s Bruce Feldman says Alabama has received a huge boost from its freshmen. And that’s not even counting NG Terrence Cody.

Later today: MSU’s 1 p.m. press conference. Check you then.

good article about lee…doesnt change my perspective on the condition of the team right now but glad to hear lee is doing well…

i love this quote though….”It’s the idea of, let’s move on to the next play, let’s move on to the next day and see IF we can get better and change it,” coach Sylvester Croom said….if we can get better??…i know im reading into the quote too much but im bored and its little things like that that just prove he isnt a head coach…real coaches make their team get better every week…..

I like Ol’ Lee. Just wish we’d have put him in to beat Auby that night

Enjoy these last few days…it might be a while before State can OWN Alabama again…i think that’s the biggest reason you guys are going to get throttled this weekend. Can’t handle success. No matter how little or flukey it may be. It was unreal how many lame t-shirts and stickers there have been the last 2 years…Live it up because it ends Saturday Night

Well done column. Enjoyed reading the balanced perspective on football and life without it getting too saccharine.

I hate Satan’s Bama! Everyone join in.

“Can’t handle success”? Really? Obviously that’s why you’re here, trolling on a blog dedicated to Mississippi State athletics now that your team doesn’t suck. That is obviously how one handles success, right?

You’re epitomizing why most people can’t stand Alabama fans: you’re a bunch of horrible winners and even worse losers. You take it all way too damned seriously. It’s just a game! You won’t find a Mississippi State fan so delusional as to, oh I don’t know, KILL someone over it, like Alabama fans seem wont to do.

If MSU were undefeated national champions for ten straight years and Alabama lost every one of their games during that time, I doubt the demeanor of either side’s fans would change much: MSU fans would still have fun and Alabama fans would still bitch about everything and pray to Bear Bryant for their salvation.

“i think that’s the biggest reason you guys are going to get throttled this weekend”

I think the biggest reason that we get throttled this weekend is because Bama is the #1 team in the country, and we’re sitting at 3-6 with a terrible offense. It has nothing to do with 2007 or 2006.

  8. darkcooger Says:

More importantly than my previous post, nice story Brad. Sounds like Lee is a real class act and I’m proud we’ve got him.

  9. rwriffe Says:

Bama returns, its obvious that Alabama is the better team and if you do win it’s because of that fact. However, we’ve beaten them with less talent. More to the point you had better enjoy where bama is for now because come SEC championship game time Florida is going to eat an elephants rear end. And trust me, you will hear about it right here. Now, crawl back under whatever rock you came out from under.
