Saban Says …

Some excerpts from Alabama coach Nick Saban‘s session on the SEC coaches teleconference this morning. He was raving about MSU:

• “Mississippi State is a very good team. They have two one-point losses in the league, or they’d be right up in the thick of things.”

• “On offense, they have a lot more balance this year. They certainly present issues and problems for anyone defensively.”

• “I think Mississippi State has got as good a defensive team as anybody we’ve played all year.”

• “The thing they do (on defense) is they execute their schemes well and don’t make a lot of mistakes.”

Well, even if he’s lying, I appreciate him saying it. At least he’s not honest.

Normal coaching smoke screen. Why be truthful about the oposition and take the chance of making them mad? Also, building up the opponent may help keep important votes when they count.

The best thing about Saban is watching him come unglued on the sideline when things don’t go his way. Last year when AD hurdled his guy on the stretch play for the 1st he almost had an aneurysm. It was great!

yeah maroon1, that was awesome last year…but this is typical coaching mumbo jumbo when playing a bad team…nothing that holds any water….
