Brian Johnson Out 2-4 Weeks

by

Mississippi State senior post player Brian Johnson (6-9, 235) will miss 2-4 weeks with a left ankle and foot sprain, which he suffered in practice Tuesday. He’ll be evaluated by doctors today and again Monday. He was set to start in Saturday’s season opener against Centenary; he’ll be replaced by either Kodi Augustus or Romero Osby.

Johnson, a reserve last year after transferring from Louisville, was expected to contribute more this season to a young Bulldog team. He and junior Jarvis Varnado are MSU’s tallest players.

Johnson averaged 2.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 9.6 minutes per game last year.
