Showing Physicality On the Links

by

It’s freakin’ cold out there. Me no likey.

Here are some stories hot off the press, though. (Har har.) I wrote about how Arkansas is steadily making progress under first-year coach Bobby Petrino. From the other side of the river, we read about Petrino wanting his Hogs to regain their “physicality” for this week’s game at MSU. By the way, I looked it up, and “physicality” is actually a word. I was mildly surprised.

In other news, State WR Tay Bowser is lost to a fractured leg. And in basketball, the Bulldogs rolled past North Alabama, 102-61. Jarvis Varnado showed some physicality last night.

And back to football, ESPN.com’s Chris Low rates MSU’s Derek Pegues as the seventh-best multi-purpose player in the SEC.

I hope the Pegues gets a chance in the NFL. I know Titus has not done well but is on the scout team with the Browns. Fitzhugh, Washington, and Pegues should all get a chance in the NFL. Whenever I turn on the NFL, I always find myself looking to the team with the most guys from State. That is usually who I cheer for unless its the Titans…big Titan fan as well as State.
-Brad, do you know if any of the players have been contacted the NFL offices to participate in the combine yet?

One of the Titans premier players is a state guy as you well know.

Wahington? As in our CB Marcus “Toast” Washington? Sorry desert, he’s a pretty good special teams guy, but he continually gets beat as a CB.

He also had a chance to knock JPW’s helmet into the third row against bama and let up at the last second.

You are right there Sir!! The Hog have become and showing “Physicality”. Dawg and hawg, who will be able to overcome and be the winner of this battle?

Thanks draws-my wife is friends with Country’s wife-not fishing buddies with him or anything-
About Washington-when the d when to the 4-3 or 4-3-5 he held his own, but struggles in the 3-3-5. Ufortunately his bad play usually resulted in touchdown. I think his special teams play could get him a try at the NFL.
The rest of season is a wash-0 and 2 LLL’s for us. I am starting to wonder if AD is looking to go pro early as well. I know he struggled this year but the crop coming to the NFL is not that good as far as RB’s are concerned. He has a chance to stand out before some of the more elite RB’s come out.

Trying to look ahead because looking at this year is sooo depressing. I live in Alabama so I hear about 12 National proms queens every day…and the fact they are undefeated.blah

I went to the game last week Desert. All I can say is, I’d hate to be an Aubie fan in that state right now.

pegues will definitely get his shot in the nfl…he is a ball hawk and has experience on special teams which a lot of nfl teams like…if this year would have gone like the year he had last year, he would probably easily be a 2nd round pick but this year didnt really help that much…

Dixon will not go pro this year…not unless he wants to end up like jamont gordon…and there is no europe league that will give him money…dixon will be here next year and crxxm should learn how to utilize him and ducre…they are both very good backs if used correctly…but we havent been able to evaluate talent since crxxm has gotten here…
