Mullen Worldwide Tour Continues

by

OK, not worldwide. But new MSU coach Dan Mullen will be making several stops around the region next week to speak to Bulldog fans. As Gregg Ellis might say, this is a little Germans – it was released a couple of hours ago. But here is the release.

Following Monday events in the Mississippi Delta and Memphis areas, Mullen and other university officials will speak to fans in Nashville, Hattiesburg and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Each of the events is open to current Bulldog Club members as well as the general public.

The tour will begin with a stop at the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Entrepreneurial Center in Stoneville, Miss., on Monday, January 12. The lunchtime event begins at 12 noon, and will feature comments by Mullen as well as director of athletics Greg Byrne. Admission is 12 dollars, and lunch will be served during the event.

Later that day, Mullen speaks to fans at the Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center in Olive Branch, Miss. The evening event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., and a program featuring comments by Mullen and other university officials begins at 7 p.m. Admission is 10 dollars, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served during the event. There will also be a cash bar available during the reception hour.

On Tuesday, January 13, fans can visit with the new head football coach at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville. Admission is 10 dollars for the 6 p.m. reception hour and program beginning at 7 p.m.

Thursday, January 15, Mullen travels to the Hattiesburg Country Club for a lunchtime event. A buffet lunch will be provided during the event, which begins at 12 noon, and again admission is 10 dollars.

Thursday evening, the coach will conclude his tour with a stop at the Great Southern Club, located at the top of the Hancock Plaza in Gulfport. The 6 p.m. reception and 7 p.m. program will cost 10 dollars.

I will definitely be there when Mullen drops by OB. Can’t wait.

Anybody have updates on our ’09 recruiting class? I read a couple AU commits are re-thinking their choice and seriously putting State a top the list.

    I love it!

    Go State!

i might make it down to the one in OB…not sure yet though….

maroon1white, who are you hearing about??

Any word of if Mullen will make a stop in Atlanta? There is a very large alumni base here. Lots of people turned out last year when Croom spoke.

I believe maroon1white is referring to RB LaDarius Perkins, a CB, and even possibly QB Ray Cotton though Russell is our guy for QB.

LaDarius Perkins I read has not decommitted from AU but wants to go on his official visit to AU & State before he makes his decision. Prior to Tubbs departure he was solid on AU. Also, Pat Miller a DB from Hoover who may not garner as much attention as some of the other recruiting prospects had AU high on his list but hasn’t setup an official visit with AU b/c of Chizick but will visit State Jan 30th. I haven’t read anything about Cotton being interested in State. Which is fine I think we need of a pocket passer than a duel threat guy.

yeah i heard about perkins but i havent heard about the miller kid….i think perkins would be a very nice pick up from what i read about him…

  6. maroon1white Says:

The only knock on Perkins is his size, but to me in the open field height is not a concern to me. He’s well balanced, elusive, quick, & has great hands all the things we need to run the spread. I don’t see him being very successful in the WCO/Pro Set at AU, but my opinion is slighted 🙂

So you think your going to be in OB for Mullen’s visit? Maybe I’ll see you there.

    Go State!

i doubt malzahn runs a pro set at AU…just saying…
