Fitzhugh in East-West Game

Strong safety Keith Fitzhugh, who recently wrapped up his senior year at Mississippi State, has been selected to play in the 84th annual East-West Shrine Game, which is set for 3 p.m. Saturday in Houston. It’ll be on ESPN2.

Fitzhugh is the second Bulldog chosen to a postseason all-star game; free safety/kick returner Derek Pegues will play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 24 (6 p.m., NFL Network).

Fitzhugh had a full career at State, playing in 48 games. He recorded 180 tackles, six interceptions and three fumble recoveries. And on a personal note, I thoroughly enjoyed watching him play; such an intense competitor. A joy to interview, as well.

Fitz was a great player, hope he can turn some heads among scouts and find his way to playing on Sundays

One of the last chances to see everybody’s favorite helmet, but there is a good chance it won’t be the ugliest on the field.
