On the Links, Late Edition

Yeah, I’m a bit late with this. Been kind of crazy around my house today. Trying to housebreak a giant yellow lab.

Anyway, here is my Vanderbilt-MSU basketball advance, examining how Phil Turner and the Bulldogs handle bigger teams on defense. And from the Tennessean, here’s a story on what Vandy must deal with in MSU center Jarvis Varnado. Here is the factbox that’s in today’s paper:

When: 7 p.m. today, Humphrey Coliseum, Starkville
TV: Fox Sports South. Live Internet streaming at ESPN360.com.
XM: Channel 199.
Series: Vanderbilt leads 71-42.
Last year: Vanderbilt, 86-85 (OT) in Nashville.
Coaches: Vanderbilt – Kevin Stallings (305-183, 16th year; 191-120, 10th year at Vanderbilt). MSU – Rick Stansbury (220-120, 11th year).
Notes: MSU coach Rick Stansbury has 89 career SEC wins, tying Richard Williams’ school record. … Vanderbilt has lost seven straight in Starkville. … State C Jarvis Varnado is second in the SEC in rebounds per game (9.8). … Vandy C A.J. Ogilvy missed the SEC opener against Kentucky but played in Wednesday’s 50-40 win over Georgia. He scored 18 points.

Yeah Ole Missy is gettin whooped! Looking to that matchup!

I think the dawgs will roll tonight. Swat has to hold Olgivy to about 8-10 points, and our perimeter D has to be good-like it has been.

    Dawgs 74
    Vandy 63

this is hilarious, everything UM does right, they do 3 things wrong.

-That Huertas kid is a punk, don’t like him, didnt like him last yr.

I’ll tell you what-LSU is a dangerous team, and despite their record last yr they were too. I think they are the only ones in the West who’ll run with us to the end of the season in the West

when i look at that pregame capsule BL, i see 4 of our starters averaging double digits in points. That balance could prove to be the difference down the stretch.

JB, JB,JB, I thought the end was near brother……. If we get there, we’ll do our talkin’ on the court. At the rate the magnolias are goin, they won’t have 5 healthy people to put on the court.

  7. imabulldog Says:

JB, where did that come from…and you know we are atleast gonna win one of those right? And not to rub it in, but yall did stink today, just like we have stunk it up a couple of times this year. But, I’d be really surprised if we didnt beat yall both games.
