Lunchtime Hoops

by

It’s going to be rather crowded around Humphrey Coliseum today. Several football recruits are visiting, and of course Mississippi State has a game against this team from Oxford, at noon. Yeah, it’s big. How big? MSU basketball SID Gregg Ellis said he’s issued 66 media credentials, and that doesn’t included the 40 or so for the Raycom folks. Students are braving the cold, camping outside The Hump in hopes of getting a seat.

MSU (14-6, 4-1 SEC) is trying to remain tied with LSU for first place in the Western Division. Ole Miss (11-9, 2-4) hopes to build off Tuesday’s 85-80 upset of No. 24 Kentucky. Here’s a look at the matchup.

Now, I’d best finish my breakfast (reheated pizza) and hit the road. Need to procure a seat in the workroom. See you there.

I heard that Pat Patterson was suppose to be there this weekend, and then changed his mind. Does anyone have any info on this?

I read through a forum on Scout.com that he did make the trip. This was according to a couple of students that talked to him last night on campus. I think he and Deontae Skinner are close and Skinner was taking his official at State this weekend. From some of the quotes he’s made in the last few days, he sounds overwhelmed. So many schools to choose from its gotta be tough on a teenager. Either way State is going to be dangerous this fall.
