Elgin Bailey: Not Fractured, No Surgery

It’s not nearly as bad for Elgin Bailey as it first appeared. Bailey will not need surgery on his right ankle, which he severely dislocated in last night’s win over Florida. As they carried him off the court, that ankle was turned inward at about a 45 degree angle. “Broke it,” I thought. Well, not quite. It’s not fractured, and he’ll get a cast on Tuesday. He’ll be in that for six weeks, and in three months he’ll be able to start running.

What to do without him in the meantime? Well, if Brian Johnson can get rid of the flu bug – it kept him out last night – he should get more minutes. Romero Osby, too. And a little more pressure on starter Jarvis Varnado.

Good news! We need Bailey back ASAP. Maybe Brian Johnson can get over the flu. We need him to step it up along with everyone else.
